Make DC penalties apply to the percentage of games and not the number of instances in a 24 hour window. Problem solved.
-
Unless one of them gets hit, then they magically can pass through one another. 🤔
-
lol yeah rank reset certainly takes the edge off.
-
For some this is revenge for ruin nerf. For others this is spite over DC changes. Either way, I'm running a no mither, tenacity, unbreakable build as survivor now. Fun. It would be terrible if I shared the love and did the exact same thing. Down every survivor and chainsaw around the map for 4 minutes as they sit there…

Survivor main here. I agree killer side was very frustrating for me until I spent a day meme gaming as killer and now I've learned to not care about winning the current match. I go in with my own agenda. Like drift king billy no addons, or overdoing moonwalking, or rotating constantly. Ironically by learning wacky…

Keep penalties, just change the method of calculating them. As it stands, casual DCers can easily rack up minor penalties, move on to another game or activity, and come back 24 hours later with no penalties ready to do it all again. All is forgiven. Whereas if it were based on a ratio, they wouldn't be able to get away…
-
If a player only plays casually, they can still DC every game without actually being harmed, whereas a player who plays 10 hours a day and crashes once or twice will have their penalties increase forever unless they quit the game for at least 24 hours. It penalizes playing many hours and doesn't do anything to stop someone…

Franklins is a really good perk against flashlight brigades. They will go for flashlight saves, they will go back to pick up flashlights. You can exploit this. Pretend to rotate to another area, but soon go back to where they dropped that flashlight and 8/10 times they will be going back for it, caught off guard. Fake the…

I don't know, 18-20 hours maybe?
-
Bad matchmaking is my guess. Magical teleport sounds like dead hard. How many hours do you have in the game?
-
Rank reset. All red ranks aren't red ranks anymore.
-
It's so great that your personal experience applies to everyone elses experience. I commend your fair and open minded approach to reasoning. Well done. I have to admit I am truly impressed by the wise souls I see in the DBD community. When I read end game chat I often hear words of encouragement and inspirational quotes…

Now why would people all of a sudden start complaining more about crashes when they are all of a sudden severely penalized for their game crashing?... I... I... can't figure it out. It must be some sort of conspiracy.
-
So in your sample size of exactly 1 person, there hasn't been a crash in months. Wow, guess it's all an elaborate ruse then. Someone ban this man. He is clearly speaking madness and lies. DBD is a perfect game with no bugs and absolutely does not crash ever.
-
Except the last game I played, one player DC'd and then the next player suicided on first hook. See my above point about it penalizing people who play a lot and not penalizing people who play casually.
-
True about the 80% kill rate lol.
-
I'm advocating you do penalize DCers, just based on percentages, not instances in a 24h period. I don't see why players who play 10 hours and crash a few times are penalized as harshly as someone who DC's half of their total games. It's a crazy policy.
-
If they play casually, the penalties aren't severe enough. If they play a lot, the penalties are too severe. Do it based on a percentage of games and everyone's happy.
-
I've had my game crash on death hook. Not saying that's what happened for them, but it does happen from time to time.
-
Except people are still DCing in matches after the penalties. It's currently designed to punish people who play a lot, not people who DC most of their matches.
-
If done by a percentage of games it would make more sense, although still be mostly ineffective. A player can easily suicide on hook, leaving their team in a bad spot. The more often this is done, the more likely the killer is to slug, which makes the game less fun for everyone.
-
soon(tm) is a meme that's been around quite a while.
-
Remove the great hedge/fence of china and we'd be off to a good start.
-
Demo is too weak imo. Billy is the best killer all around. He's very powerful, has a high skill gap, yet accessible to the newcomer, and you don't feel cheated when you verse one, unlike say the spirit where it's flipping a coin on whether you guess right or not, or a good nurse where you feel helpless.
-
It's an additional steam account that has access to your games. Only you have access to the account so yes it's your account. If you try the family account and it let's you play, that means the bug is surrounding your original account specifically. That would be very helpful to know in narrowing down what's wrong.
-
Try a steam "family sharing" account and see what happens. Just throwing out ideas in case you missed one.
-
Try playing in windowed mode and turn off auto-adjust resolution.
-
I'd be fine with that, if it were based on a percentage of games instead of how often you play in a 24 hour period. As it is now, it punitively affects people who play a lot.
-
it's not my computer, it's their game. My other games don't ######### the bed like dbd does. I put a lot of money and time into this game with the expectation that I wouldn't be blocked from playing it because they decided to change their DC algorithm to something much dumber. I mean that literally. The (number of crashes over…
-
And if you get a dumb teammate it messes the game for everyone, but that isn't penalized. Meanwhile my 1500 hour self crashes a few times in a 10 hour stretch and my penalties keep increasing. Makes no sense. As i've said before, make it a percentage of games not just a number in a 24 hour period. Right now it penalizes…
-
you know what else is part of dbd? slugging and making survivors sit there for 4 minutes doing nothing with no recourse.
-
You'd always get the survivor sided map because 4 vs 1 vote.
-
Too much altruism and too little objectives is very common from my experience. Altruism emblems are competitive, so many survivors rush saves before their teammates can.
-
Then do it correctly the way I outlined above. The current system makes no sense.
-
Or the devs could fix this mess. They already delayed the DC penalty once. If they want to have DC penalties, do it on a percentage of games basis and not a 24 hour window which unduly punishes players who play a lot, and doesn't punish enough players who play more casually.
-
But let's say I slug you with knockout and third seal. Now you have to sit there for 4 minutes doing nothing. No really guys, this is a great policy change.
-
Wrong on both counts.
-
"If the bug doesn't happen to me, it must not happen." - the people in this thread. Brilliant logic, friends. Heaven forbid you also get stuck with penalties through no fault of your own. I'd like to see your condescension and dismissals then.
-
They say penalty won't apply during loading. Of course not all of us have that particular issue. There are many ways dbd can fail but I think you specifically are safe for now.
-
Or those who periodically crash through no fault of their own, and play tons of matches in a 24 hour window. Now I'm stuck incurring increasing penalties unless I take 24 hour breaks between marathons. They could use a percentage of games system, but instead they want to punish people playing too much. But it's fine. On…
-
No. But we can add some penalties for getting stuck.
-
Go back to the system where it's a percentage of total games, instead of a 24 hour window that punishes people who play more.
-
Dodge lobbies with keys. Kill the one with the key first. Run franklins. Otherwise it's just luck of the draw. Keys drop at 7% or 14% rate depending on plunderers. Then they have to find hatch before you. If you are a high mobility killer like billy, the odds are even worse for them. Just accept that much of this game is…
-
Are the chains supposed to represent unfair crash penalties?
-
The fix is to bring back the old system based on percentage of games played instead of DC's in a 24 hour period. I can't tell you just to quit because BHVR reverses and changes their minds so they might come to their senses. You could quit and periodically check to see if they fixed it yet. You might just forget about the…
-
They used to have a system based on what the percentage of games that you played did you DC from. See that system was logical, and BHVR has a strict no logic policy. Instead they want to penalize you if you play too much. If you DC every single game you play? not a problem, just play very casually. If your game crashes a…

I wrote that I've been playing for 7 months, not one month, and it's the first game of the day, not the first game ever.
-
First game of the day, killer just slugs everyone and they lay there bleeding out for 4 minutes. Now this is gaming!
-
I saw this yesterday. Someone blowing gens, spamming fast vault for attention, then they suicide on hook immediately. Just remove DC ban please. The old system used a percentage formula so it didn't penalize players who played more than others. If the goal is to get me to play the game less, it's working.
