I don't have any explaination that's just how it is
I've attempted to escape a hook a lot recently and I haven't been able to kobe at all even with luck and slippery, but it shows the start of the escape animation, but it instantly spawns the entity and moves you (still on the hook) about a meter or 2 forward stuck there unable to be saved.
I was one off the pip, but I was given it either way. Haven't had any noticed glitches happen or possible causes for this. Im pretty sure I actually gained the pip, so I don't think it's visual. After a match sometimes when you should gain 1 pip (may also happen if you should get 2 but I've never noticed if it has) it will say you gain 2 pips. If a match is cancelled because someone disconnects from the game before it begins all players (including the killer) lose progress for their rank.
