It took me about twelve tries to cleanse this totem. Even though the prompt is there it would not let me cleanse it until I kept adjusting my exact location to stand on the 'magic pixel' spot.

I completed this generator at the exact moment that Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance activated. The gen is lit up like it's compete but the gen counter still says there are 5 gens left.
