There is a bug that causes you to loose it sometimes. I would exit the gate with an item in hand but once I see the results screen, it says that I lost the item RIP.6 -

Same I even had people hand me hooks at the end to make sure I got the coins as well. That was red ranks btw. I feel like I was the only one who enjoyed the event.3
