Yeah, I think League of legends have basically same thing, where you can see animation of each power. They could even bring "Demo" mode Dota has, where you could try ANY killer against 1/2 …

Cross-play off will match you only with players who also have it turned off. Unless they changed it at some point… Most PC players have cross-play on.
