New Game Mechanic: Beacons
There would be 5 beacons on each map. Each beacon amplifies the Entitie's existence to the killer, instilling them with fear and rage.
Each beacon would take 30 seconds to deactivate.
Each beacon would base give the killer .5% extra movement speed.
Each generator completed would amplify each beacons effect by an extra .2% movement speed.
So assuming no beacons are deactivated and the killer is a 115% speed killer, here's the killer's end movement speed:
0 gens- 117.5%
1- 118.5%
2- 119.5%
3- 120.5%
4- 121.5%
5- 122.5%
This would add a new slowdown mechanic to the game that would punish survivors but wouldn't force them to give up. The time to deactivate is reasonable in my opinion and would make killer more scary for survivors. I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

That's a lot of speed you have there. 7.5% speed is way too fast IMO.

Keep in mind, that's 5 gens you have to complete without deactivating any of the beacons. Very Unlikely to happen in my opinion since they would be easy to spot.

Just do beacons.

I don't think the killer should gain any bonus movement speed unless generators are done. But I do like the idea of a mechanic that punishes survivors if they don't take some extra time. I don't think the killer should be able to see the auras of the beacons but the survivors should. The idea shouldn't be to give the killer bonus information or early kill pressure. Rather, just a little extra time to play the friggin game. I would also add killer bonuses to pallet break and window vault speed too. Ignore the bonus objective at your own peril. Kind of like an innate NOED but with the bones much easier for survivors to locate.

I think the killer should get a can of kerosene and burn half the map. That'll slow gens.

Killers need a tactical nuke. Every survivor is instantly sacrificed.

A couple things to note:
- They sound a lot like totems. I would rather see something that like that tied to totems rather than a new mechanic, since that could very easily be added onto it.
- 30 seconds is a lot of time considering you'd have to deactivate five of them.
- I'm not too crazy about variable speeds. It makes it really hard for both sides to judge whether or not they'll get hit before reaching that pallet/window, since the rate at which the killer is catching up is going to be changing sporadically.
Those are the main things that come to mind. I wouldn't be too sure about it myself. I tend to have a lot of close matches as the killer, and sometimes the right move for the survivors is to get some gens done while the killer is snowballing. Forcing them to stop and do 2:30 of a side objective would give me a ton more wins when I would normally have a close match.

If it can clear the corn I'd be down.
Another game had a similar mechanic actually. Killzone 2 you had to go indoors during the blast or be killed instantly.
Edit: Could also be an alt EGC. Timer instead of a bar. White flash, and survivors are bones.

Reasonable observation. If this could somehow be tied this to totems, that would be amazing. But beacons would also add a WHOLE new dimension for perks. That's what I would be most interested about.

How on earth are you having so many close matches? Lol.
Because of current matchmaker/ranking all my games are either I curbstomp a team with almost no effort at all; or more often I get no or maybe 1 kill only because of endgame stuff and am bullied all game and I can't do anything. There is no in between for like 9/10 games.
I would argue it's hard to say that something like this would be needed not because it would make killers too strong, but because we couldn't even know if it would be needed or not because we are not experiencing fair games to base our judgement off.

It's a developer. They are either 1. Rank 15-20. 2. Lying. If they were in any other job they would be fired for incompetence

Yeah its true , a streamer once , fought again 4 devs they were all rank 19/20
