Wow Discordance got nerfed
- Discordance now has limited range of 32/64/96 meters. It triggers one loud noise for a Generator when it's first marked. The aura of the Generator remains visible as long as the conditions are fulfilled. From the time the conditions are no longer fulfilled, the aura remains for another 8 seconds
BHVR, please. Increase the range of Tier 1 and Tier 2. This perk will be trash until tier 3.
It was already a decent perk...Not too good and not bad.

Would not call it nerfed. They buffed it so that every Tier has the 8 seconds of the former Tier 1-Discordance, but added the Range to have a difference between the Tiers. You may now want to use it only on Tier 3 (or Tier 2, at least), but other than that, not really a big deal tbh.

AND the aura reading is (and always was) worse at tier 3.

Definitely. Empathy has even an higher numbers than that. 32 meters of range is not enough though.

My guess is because T1 Discordance was better than T2 and T3.
Edit: Should increase the range though.

Aura Reading is better. Tier 1 Discordance was better than Tier 3 Discordance because of that.

Okay, but not a 32 meters range. It's definitely not enough for the info type perk.

overall, it solved the issue of D1 being better than D3. However, the range limit is just so unneccessary and just feels like BHVR spitting on us saying "huh, u want Discordanced 1 and 3 be fixed? Here, we changed it. Now shut up and eat it".

Yeah, maybe they can go for 64/96/128 as written by @ReverseVelocity . But I would not really call it a Nerf, since they buffed the information, but went too much with the Perk Tier-Difference.

Definitely a nerf. No longer map wide on all tiers (Tier 1 now completely useless) only one noise notification, and honestly I don't like that it persists for 8 seconds afterwards.

Aura reading is now the same across all Tiers, this is probably why the changes have been made - prior to this, T1 was better than T3...now it's not.
96m is already a huge range, I don't think that this is going to be a problem with the perk and I definitely don't think you can say the perk has been nerfed.

The devs have already said they had something planned for discordance. It shouldn't be a surprise and it makes tier 3 better than tier 1.

I'm okay with the change overly, but the only problem I see here is how huge differently the range is across the tiers. Like come on. Tier 1 and Tier 3 shouldn't make a huge difference for the perk.

And why is tier 3 only 96 meters and not 128 to help with bigger maps like Mother’s Dwelling?

I was talking about tier 1 and tier 2 Mandy. I'm fine with the overall change for the perk, but Tier 1 perk shouldn't be that much worse than a Tier 3 perk.

I wouldn't really call 1 noise notification a nerf. You don't really need to be constantly reminded people are working on a gen together if you decide to ignore the information the first time it happens.

It's definetly a nerf in my opinion, you only want the notification anyway, so even 1 second would be enough as long as you get the sound, but they're tinkering with the range, making it a lot worse on tier 1 and 2 and sometimes misleading at tier 3.
A bigger issue thuogh is the fact that they're again touching things nobody asked them to instead of focusing on core game issues. (and boy does the game have some.) A this point it's pretty clear that the community has a better idea of what to do, so the devs still insisting on these dumb changes is pretty dissapointing (atleast to me as a veteran)

Im just wondering why killer perks are always the ones that gets the most nerfs and conditions to apply (hello surge), making them unfun to use or unplayable for most character thanks to these conditions
(Unlike...you know most of survivor perks where they have very fiew conditions, a fiew perks needs to be balanced out, and a lot to be buffed to see more different builds)

Yeah they're definetly scared of making good killer perks, it's been that way for literally years now, so I wouldn't expect this to change anytime soon/ever.

So a perk with no range limit gets changed to a perk with a range limit that will hinder the killer on maps like mothers dwelling and you say “I definitely don’t think you can say the perk has been nerfed”. I mean are we supposed to take you seriously in your bhvr shilling takes? Don’t be so condescending while being so intellectually dishonest.

Many people asked for a Tier-Switch for Discordance so that Tier 1 becomes Tier 3 and vice-versa, because Tier 1 was better.

The only reason people even preferred Tier 1 to Tier 3 in the first place was... because it gave you notifications more often.
Not to mention that range is much too short. Why was this nerf necessary again? They could've fixed Keys and Moris and instead they fix what isn't broken.

The main reason T1 was better was less about the noise notification and more because it meant discordance was giving you more up to date information.
T1 meant every 8 seconds discordance would check the generator again to see if survivors were still working on the generator together vs T3's every 12 second check.

guys, 96 meter range is map wide, ranges in this game are based on radius not diameter, and the perk itself covers 96 meters around you so its a diameter of 192 which is basically the entire map when standing not at the very corner, also the perk still lights up so its similar information to whispers. TBH they just made the tiers of the perk do something and not much else

Discordance was useful on lower mobility killers because it allowed for early gen pressure/an opportunity to stop a gen from popping with 2x people before you even patrol the area. It also allowed lower mobility killers to have a better chance with spaced out gen placement mid-late game.
Limiting the range just makes weaker killers weaker and further incentivizes people to play one of those 'boring' killers :(

I approve of this. Tinkerer needed it far worse, but ok. A killer shouldn't be privy of what is going on at the opposite side of the map.

Balance team spinning the buff/nerf wheel and throwing darts at it, nothing too new there.
In fairness if a gen is being worked on by 2+ people more than 96 metres away you're probably not getting to it in time with most killers. Still completely unnecessary.

96 meters is long, guys. You would have to be standing near the corner of many maps to not cover gens on the other side. People have been complaining about the constant spam of loud noise notifications from Discordance and about Tier 3 not being clearly better than Tier 1. This addresses both of those issues and it only somewhat weakens the perk. Yes, at rank 1 it will be pretty weak, but at rank 2 or 3 it'll be almost as strong as before.

That's the problem. Tier 1 perk shouldn't be weak imo. It should be a little less powerful, but not making it completely useless. Tier 1 should be at least 64 meters though, so it can still be useful in matches.

It already persisted for 8 seconds, and one noise notification is enough to know that Discordance is active. People were actually complaining about the loud notification spam before. Yes, the range reduction does make it a bit weaker, but 96 meters is a massive range. Tier 2 would still be good and plenty usable too. And, now we don't have the issue of Tier 1 being stronger than Tier 3, which people also complained about.

Many comparable perks already work this way. Like look at Empathy or Bond.
Tier 1 discordance would be weaker, but it still wouldn't be useless. Typically Discordance is best on highly mobile killers because they can actually make it to the gen before it pops, but for killers that are more deadly but less mobile it's still be useful to know which gens nearby are getting worked on.

At worst it persisted 8 seconds with T1 discordance. But it's unlikely that survivors would stop working on a gen together right at the 8 second refresh point. Meaning for the most part Discordance gave you fairly accurate information on whether or not two or more survivors were working on a gen together.

Empathy and Bond has a reasonable reading range and at tier 1 they're good and make their job. Remember the old 12 meters of reading range of Bond? Yeah, this is how Discordance 1 will feel like.

I disagree. 32 meters is not useless for an effect like this. 12m is basically without the distance where you should hear/see them already. 32m is farther than that. I would rather run Discordance 1 than the current Bond 1 in particular. Empathy I'd probably prefer over both.
Tier 1 perks really shouldn't be almost as good as Tier 3 imo. In their more recent perk designs Behavior has continued this trend.
