How to fix the entire game: looping is an exploit edition

add a turning while running animation. this completely removes looping from the game. from there you can go ahead and remove the 5 years worth of bandaid fixes over a mechanic that was never intended, the exploit that's so deep rooted it's not even recognized as such anymore.

watch survivors stop acting like toxic, clicking, teabagging smartasses when they're actually afraid to be caught by the killer, as they should. make lightweight basekit and other small changes to compensate.

humans cannot physically change direction while running without stopping for a while. it doesnt make sense. LOOPING IS AN EXPLOIT AS MUCH AS STRETCHED RESOLUTION. THE GAME WAS ORIGINALLY BALANCED AROUND EVASION, NOT BULLYING A KILLER.

M1 Killers wouldn't have that many problems anymore if loops didn't exist anymore. As to why the devs don't want to buff M1 Killers, stats say they're fine. Pinhead has the highest killrate and I'm expecting another nerf to his Add-ons and maybe to his box

You might think that looping isn't engaging gameplay but the reality is that the majority of the player does enjoy the whole interaction between killer and survivor during a chase. It's literally what makes DBD fun and, in my opinion, separates it from any other game. BHVR is never going to make any drastic changes to looping because they would be killing their own game.

"M1 Killers wouldn't have that many problems anymore if loops didn't exist anymore." so you're agreeing? hum... idk what to tell you. you're proving my point. antiloop killers totally power creep m1 killers. if looping was removed they could have more freedom of creativy with killer powers withouth making either:

A)unviable m1 killer (see the reception that sadako is getting.)

    B) power creep anti-loop killer.

I'm agreeing with M1 Killers being weak, but that wasn't your point. Your point was that looping is an exploit and that is should be removed, and with that I disagree

that's like making different varieties of stretched resolution available in the game options as a mechanic and saying it is not an exploit anymore. jesus, i guess it technically wouldn't be anymore, would it? bhvr response to issues is: ignore it/put 300 bandaid fixes over it/make it part of the game. im begging you to sell the game to another developer at this point.

Looping actually was technically an exploit. This is no longer the case though as it has clearly been adopted as an intended mechanic by now. For starters pallet numbers were reduced quite considerably. Anyone remember double jungle gym pallets? Tiles have also been kinda altered in a way that prevents super strong tiles from spawning close to each other. Still happens though cause it's bhvr. There has also been an abundance of antiloop killers being released.

That tells you there the game is balanced around looping. You would've had a better argument way back then when people actually complained about pallet looping because there were millions of pallets and pallet vaccum. Pallet vaccum being a thing clearly tells you that looping wasn't intended, but it was removed too.

If you ask me though it's better this way. If your idea were implemented back then, all we'd have today is hold w and throw pallets. And there would be a LOT more pallets.

Tho, he has a point regarding the running animation being used in sorta unrealistic ways. I would enjoy seeing Survivors have momentum to their animations.

Do you prefer survivors hiding or holding W? Those are the alternatives and they aren't particularly engaging from the killer perspective.

so Bloodlust has no reason to stay if there is no more infinite ?

Looking at the original state of the game, no. The Devs placed windows and pallets everywhere like it was meant to be wasted. Players started looping after windows, jungle gyms, and pallet reworks. You could tell looping never cross the Devs minds when the made maps.

On topic though, looping is viable because of hitboxes, not due to changing directions.

I'm more surprised to see complaints about looping during the era of holding W.

Looping is not a exploit. It's an actual game mechanic and it's one of the few defenses survivors have against the killer. Removing looping would just turn the game into a M1 killer simulator and nobody wants that.

Obviously it's not an exploit, but a core game mechanic at this point. That said, the sentiment amongst many that it's the only mechanic that really matters is kinda tired.

Seriously, one guy is posting something on the forum and we immediately have to start this "us vs. them" BS? "All killers want survivors just to stand still and get hooked!"

Where did I say "all killers"?

Don't you feel bad for not learning English now!

Killers are supposed to stumble and slow down when they fall from great heights but they don't in DBD. Looping is not an exploit. It's honestly the only way to evade. Killers have tracking perks you know.

Yeah, breakable walls FTW xD, so please tell me:

    * For what was Cowshed introduced? To counter every killer in the Game except Nurse?

    * Puzzle Map? To counter lack of pallets on maps? XD.

    * Gas Heaven? What do you needed to counter when you designed that map?

    * Second Chance perks? To counter Killers easy killing Potato survivors?

Were all this ideas intended when devs team were developing this mechanics?

Just go play with bots if you have this much trouble Im sure you'll feel right at home from the way you're talking, nobody is gonna hold your hand in this game it's either get good or get dunked on just like any other multiplayer game.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that looping is an exploit. From a hide n seek simulator to a run simulator with bully squads of 4.

It's definitely not what the developers imagined the overall playstyle to be. At least that's what I'm assuming considering the first killers whose abilities were interesting but not out to break any loops. Of course, the Nurse is and will always be the absolute champion, but if you play against a Nurse who has what it takes, the loading time including the trial itself is faster than the waiting time for the lobby itself.

Agreed with first part about looping not being an exploit, but bloodlust doesn't really counter infinites. Sure, you'll eventually end the chase, but you've wasted so much time. I guess your only option is to just leave and find someone else.

As a 2016 player, I remember I used to report loopers and face camp them.

It's worth mentioning looping back then was MUUUCH better. I remember blood lodge being pallet town: every single tile had at least 2 pallets. Good luck catching me son.

They did a year or so ago but survivor didn't want to relearn muscle memory and the devs rerolled the update and back to the butter sliding animations.

You know, the first grand theft auto was a racing game where they couldn't figure out why the cops kept trying to kill players.

Game Mechanics change, some mechanics are strong enough to change the game they're in. It'd be easier to make dbd2 than to remove looping at this point.
