They easily could, but they won't because they worry too much about player criticism about whether this killer or that killer is OP or too weak, or whether the game is too killer-sided or survivor-sided.
-
Sorry, you're not crazy - I just reversed what I meant to say :) Comment edited above

I respectfully disagree. Although you are correct that bots are better than someone who doesn't want to try, no DC penalties means that survivors will DC at the slightest inconvenience because there is no punishment. The time bans help keep chronic DC-ers out of game queues, which is the whole point. Removing time bans…

These stats are based on such a low sample size, it's ridiculous to draw any conclusions from them. Unfortunately, BHVR refuses to provide any data other than a few very selective releases once in a blue moon.
-
Agree that this post is bad bait, but so is your take that "beginners can beat a SWF". Care to post some proof that you can easily beat good SWF survivor teams?
-
You really think getting rid of DC penalties will be good for the game? Haven't you seen what happened when they've done this in the past? The game becomes unplayable for survivors.
-
At least in my region (US eastern time zone), I have instant killer queues any time after 5:00 PM all through the night, so that's telling me that there is still an excess of survivor players, at least during that time period. During the daytime, killer queue times are usually longer than survivor queue times, but killer…
-
They probably will, and it will kill the game (at least whatever modes they use bots in). There is a large % of players (including myself) that will just go play something else if they introduce bots into the game outside of the DC backfills.
-
If I see a bot in a lobby, I'm out. This is such a terrible direction for the game.
-
I use it because I don't play the game that often and I don't memorize where every single vault and window are. I don't have 18 hours a day to play this game that apparently some people in this thread do.
-
Why I am not surprised that you were the one to turn this into an "us vs them" thing…
-
I would say it depends on the skill level of the survivors. I go against very good survivors on a regular basis. These players know how to run every loop, greed pallets and have no problem staying injured to get gens done. Against these type of players, I find it extremely difficult to win without tunneling someone out. If…
-
This is an incredibly flawed statement. So if the best player in the world can without tunneling, then anyone can? OK
-
It's pretty clear that BHVR aren't going to do anything about this. They could enforce ping limits in lobbies, but that would mean they would have fewer players and thus less revenue. Or they could support more servers in regions that don't currently have any, but that would mean more expenses. Either way, BHVR are…

This isn't a problem with genrush. It's a problem with coordinated 4-man teams breaking the game with unfair advantages of communication and coordination of perks. BHVR has made it pretty clear they're never going to do anything to address this unfair advantage, so you have a few choices. 1) Suck it up and be a survivor…
-
This make me LOL. Thanks :)
-
The DC penalty is working exactly as intended - to discourage players like you from ruining other people's games because you quit if you aren't having fun. Screw everyone else, right? Also, the game will not give you a DC penalty if the server kicks you out.
-
I have no idea what you are talking about here. When I play killer, I suppose I would consider myself "determined" in that I try to win, and I certainly don't win every game. Maybe I'm just not very good. What do you mean by "abusing the power"?
-
So are you going to check the political affiliations and viewpoints of the owners and employees of every single business that you ever patronize to make sure they don't hold any views that you find objectionable? That seems incredibly exhausting.
-
Survivor players don't have skill and opportunity to win? That's news to me
-
There have been lots of solutions proposed to handicap SWF teams. Limiting multiple uses of the same perk/items/add-ons, certain perk combos, adjusting gen speeds, etc. But whenever those are proposed, people cry that you're "punishing them for playing with friends", so they'll get to keep their unfair advantage forever.
-
Play however you want. Any perks, camping, tunneling, whatever you want to do. I would honestly like to see some your matches if you're willing to post. You're the only one who will actually put their money where their mouth is. Most others just throw stuff out there with zero experience playing killer against non-noob…
-
You always complain about killers being too powerful, so I guess by your logic that makes you a bad survivor player
-
The game is supposed to be killer-sided. The devs have very clearly stated that the target kill rate is 60%. Fewer people played killer back when kill rates were lower. Back then, my survivor queue times during peak evening hours would sometimes be 15 minutes or longer. Killer players were extremely rare. Now my survivor…
-
BHVR has made it pretty clear (by their silence on the issue) that they don't have any plans to address this problem. I've already long since given up trying to get the devs' attention to even acknowledge that this is a problem.
-
I hate RPD for both survivor and killer. I would be very happy if I never saw that map again
-
Discussion is closed? How am I still able to post then? 😉
-
It certainly depends on how far along you are in the grind. I'm at about 2,200 hours in the game now, but that has been over the course of 6 years as I'm a pretty casual player. I have bought/played maybe half the killer roster and a bit more of the survivor roster, and am at the point now where I have pretty much…
-
I didn't say what I said without thinking about everything that you mentioned. BHVR can handle their business any way they choose to. People absolutely deserve time off. I have no problem with them taking as much time off as they want to over the holidays. But if you are running a live service game, especially during a…

Mistle Toes are busted and won't be fixed because everyone is on vacation for the next 2 weeks. But they want us to vote for the game for the Labor of Love award.

He was not "fine". He has uncounterable free hits in stealth mode, so something needs to be done to offset that major advantage that he has
-
Source? My own experience. I played back then. I remember what it was like. How can you draw conclusions from Youtube videos? First of all, you have no idea what time of day they were playing. Survivors queues have always been shorter during off-peak times. Second, there is self-selection with Youtube video uploads. Nobody…
-
I'm not saying what is fair or not fair. That's an incredibly subjective judgment and everyone has a different opinion or definition of what is "fair". The devs' definition of "fair" for this game is a 60% kill rate, for what it's worth. That's what they are aiming for with the game balance. Sorry you don't like it. I'm…
-
By far #1 most hated - non-functional matchmaking system Other than than, BHVR cranking out new content at a furious pace, releasing new content in a busted state, taking forever to fix bugs/balance issues and sometimes ignoring them for years, spending resources and time making changes that nobody asked for, refusing to…
-
If you believe that a 60% kill rate is the game being "rigged" in favor of killer players, then it's clear that you're never going to be happy with this game. What is an acceptable and fun escape rate for you? 50%? More than that? Should survivors escape a majority of the time? What do you think killer players are going to…
-
I'm sorry, the way you worded your response sounded sarcastic and dismissive. It's tough to tell when you can't see someone's face, obviously. I apologize for my rush to assume that you were being rude in your response
-
Everybody is going to have a different opinion on what the kill rates should be, so it's pointless to try to convince people one way or the other. The fact of the matter is that when kill rates were lower, killer numbers were way down as evidenced by the extremely long survivor queue times that we had. BHVR have decided…

Incentives have been broken for a long time and they will likely remain broken for a long time
-
The peak was July 2021 at 105K players, and I believe that was due to the Resident Evil chapter that brought in a ton of players who only wanted to play for that new content. You need to look at the long-term average and not based the popularity of the game on one-time outliers. Certain special events and new chapters…

Give Killers basekit Deerstalker. When I slug I survivor to apply pressure, I have every intention of going back to hook them eventually. But most of the time, the survivor crawls away to a hiding spot or obscure corner of the map so I can't find them. I'm not going to waste a whole bunch of time trying to find them if I…

The devs have never told us why they don't have ping limits, but it's not difficult to figure out. Setting ping limits means fewer people will play, which means less revenue $. It's good for BHVR's bottom line, but it comes at the expense of player experience. It's a tradeoff that BHVR are OK with because people generally…

Servers have been steadily melting down for a while, and it seems to only be getting worse. I have a very fast wired internet connection and this is the only game where I am getting garbage pings. It's getting to the point where I don't even want to play anymore because of the stuttering, BS hits after I'm 10 ft past a…

Most likely a VPN abuser that one

To be fair, most of the stuff we have to spend BP on will never get used :)

This is what happens with a 3-month cycle to crank out new content. Come hell or high water (or bugs galore), that new content is going to get released and we'll worry about fixing things later. The best thing for the long term health of the game would be to slow down, take at least one quarter off, and just focus on bug…

I like the way the old Ormond map looks. Don't mess with it!

Play a different game until they fix the servers or get new ones

I've gotten bored with the event already. There's really nothing new or exciting with this one. I'm just completing the tomes and going back to normal mode as soon as I get the tomes completed.
