The issue now is that survs are actively exploiting this mechanic by letting gens 99 and then popping 3 to 5 at the same time to avoid it.
Doesn't help that they get repair bonus PER hook instead of death and that they just need 6 1v4 gens actually to power the gates. You have to tunnel someone out ASAP because rotating hooks is much more punishing in 2v8.

That's like saying "Something being legal means it can't ever be morally wrong." Context and intent matter.
There are a lot of times when slugging is the correct play, and as long as it isn't being done maliciously I don't really care. But it definitely can be used maliciously, and the game rules allowing it doesn't mean you're immune to criticism for using that strategy in a manner that wastes everyone's time/makes people miserable/bullies newer players into quitting.

I hear you on that and understand where concerns like that can come from. While I can't promise you specific timelines, I can promise that I'm here to make sure the team gets a clear idea of what folks like you are feeling. For that, I'd love to dig into the specifics with you: When you say that balance is broken right now, is there something (or somethings) specific that's at the core of this for you?
I understand folks' bigger-picture concerns and worries about diminishing returns impacting build crafting, but if there are specific combos causing you friction or perks you feel have been especially impacted, I'd love to get your POV!

5% progress is a huge buff, even if you need to go for an unhook.

The reasons killers can't have good perks/have to be stuck with mediocre ones are called Nurse and Blight.
Do you really think survs being rewarded for failing is good design? I'm sick of this.

I do not think having to put in a little bit of work for free gen progression is really that big of a deal. It's just no longer a perk that everyone must run because it was so overtuned giving free gen progression for the killer just playing the game.

I never said anything about the original intention. I am addressing your comment about what the moderator said to you and I explained that the intention to not have it there was a decision made, not a bug. However with the feedback it was re-assessed and then given the way it was implemented back, was done as a bug fix - I can understand that part being confusing.
