Ebony and Ivory Mori nerf when?
Comments
-
They need to be tweaked, but not until we fix the games imbalances like maps, toolboxes, keys and gen speed.
2 -
Removing chests and keys from the game when?
1 -
After keys get nerfed. Mori's have already been nerfed and are in a fine place now.
2 -
They'll need them at the same time if they do it at all. The utter ######### storm they'd stir up otherwise would be too much.
Neither are really unfair. Just unenjoyable to play against.

Yeah I have 7 Ebony Mori on Doc. He's only level 39.
Hmm BT counters camping killers. Don't camp, and it's a non issue. Adrenaline procs when the game is nearly over. It's basically survivor Noed. If one is fine, so is the other. DS is anti tunneling. Don't tunnel and you'll rarely get hit with it. Though I'd argue it does need tweaking.

I wish every killer could t-bag. As far as getting first mori within first 3 minutes of the game, well that's about the same time as the first 2 gens pop so that seems fair to me.

I have 100s of moris waiting on different killers just for players like you. The ability to have fun playing nice has been taken from me, and since survivors are generally not nice, I'm going to have fun cutting you guys to bits. Bring a key if you want, I'll mori you first

Heres the way it is and I’m going to be blunt...
Moris
Survivors see a mori on the offering screen. They know they’re going to get taken out earlier than usual. They know it’s going to impact their ability to pip. They know it’s going to affect the points they earn.
What reason do they have to not quit on the loading screen?
Now before anyone has a go at me I am NOT endorsing that, I’m simply asking what incentive do they have to stay in the game? Some sort of moral code? Because it’s wrong?
One solution would be to make moris available on death hook only as has been suggested many times.
Another would be that if the killer uses an ebony mori, it acts as 2bps for survivors perhaps and maybe safety pip requirement is lowered for that game. Or just points whatever.
This way there would be an incentive for them to stay in. “Well I’m going to die early in this game and not likely to win but hey at least I’m going to get some decent points”
This allows killers to have their fun with moris and it offers something for the survivors too. Thats the way they seem to want to take this game - making it fun for both sides.
Likewise for killers. They see a key on the offering screen, what incentive do they have to not lobby dodge? They know that if they kill a few survivors then the remaining few get to escape early.
Now let me repeat again I am not endorsing any of this I’m simply pointing out that with moris and keys each side feels they are being cheated. If they aren’t going to be nerfed and that is becoming increasingly clear now then some kind of incentive should be offered to the opposing side.

It's always funny reading these nerf mori threads. It shows who wasn't around back when mori was actually brokenly strong. Back when a Billy could race across the map, down someone in the first 15 seconds of the game and then instantly remove them with a mori, no hook need. Mori offerings were already nerfed to require the killer to hook first before they can use it and that's a perfect middle ground balance for it. Requiring survivors to be on death hook before they can be moried would be pointless for killers. Why even run a mori at that point when they're already on death hook? You're not going to be saving yourself much time since most mori animations are decently long save for the Pig. Why waste the offering slot with a mori when you can use BP or map offerings in its place? The ebony and ivory mori really don't need any further change. There's no other way to nerf it without the offering becoming pointless to use tactically.
Little edit cause I forgot to add that if you can't mori a survivor till they're already death hook, then why mori and purposely give up the BP and emblem score? If they're already death hook you might as well get that last hook in and not penalize yourself as killer. The mori would lose its strategic use AND still hurt the killer point wise.

give me one good reason to bring an ebony / ivory memento mori when they only work on deathhook.

Please politely ######### off. They've already nerfed so much for killers, when are they going to nerf Adrenaline, Dead Hard, Borrowed Time?
0 -
Feel like if DS only worked if ppl tunneled, youd have alot less grumbling about it. Ppl hate having to deal with chasing survivors off of gens or something that they arnt allowed to hook because even though that survivor is being productive, they got unhooked within 60 seconds. My personal thoughts on it is if you had time to be productive by doing gens, totems, unhooks, ect... You clearly werent being tunneled.
As far as moris go...
I've been trying to unlock every perk on every killer, which results in alot of moris being in my Bloodwebs that I HAVE to buy where I would prefer that the entity eat them personally. The irony that killers are often deemed sweaty and all that all the time but realisticly... We could be using ebony moris aton more than we do. I only typically choose to burn one when a SWF thinks they're cute by picking 4 of the same character with identical skins. If I accidentally down the same person twice because I couldnt tell the difference... I'm not eating the DS.

I agree DS needs to be tweaked to not punish killers who are legitimately not tunneling.
Yeah the amount of Ebony Mori I have on Doc so soon is kinda nuts.

If a killer uses a red nori and kills everybody after one hook they will most likely lose a pip or barely save. It's usually not worth bringing them. The other mori's don't make a huge difference.
1 -
That’s basically just an ivory but worse
0 -
Your point? Adrenaline kicks in end game but it's totally useless when we get moried. Borrowed time won't help much because you could just chase the person unhooking, and Ds can't even do anything against a mori so 🤷♂️

Same can be said about 1 shot addons and such. Using Iri heads on Huntress is gonna cut your chaser emblem in half.
0 -
Could still be used to bypass DS if they have it.
Sacrificing a survivor on hooks breaks the hook, so using a mori saves the hooks.
Mori animations are pretty cool.

Right after keys and hopefully bs survivor perks are nerfed. Untill than nope. iTS pARt oF ThegAMe

DS in my opinion was not a nerf. It made it better in some aspects.
Most times i get hit with BT is when a survivor unhook before i even have a chance to walk away and auto aim decides to hit the person im not aiming at
Keys are fine but lore wise, survivor finds a key in a chest and uses it to escape, entity is then displeased? Makes no sense. Also leaving through a hatch with a key rewards survivors. Using a mori, punishes killers.
Keys shouldn't be found in boxes. Moris are fine. They are fun to lose to.

Nerf in what way? I definitely would've dropped this game at the beginning had it not been for the awesome ability that is Moris. Without em your basically just a glorified Uber giving survivors piggyback rides with no personal satisfaction. I want the ability to kill all 4 survivors in a match if I play my cards right. Even if it screws me in BP and the emblems category.

the first one is unlikely tho. if they have DS, they will likely use it as soon as they can, so after the 2nd hook - if you tunnel - it should be gone already. you could use the mori as a feeepass to tunnel someone, though that'd only be able after the 2nd hook, so you'd have to play normal beforehand and basically ignore them as long as their DS is up the first time, so it wouldnt really be all that gamechanging.
the hook is also not a big thing, yeah you have one sacrifice hook more, but thats not really gonna benefit you all that much. still not worth using an ultra rare offering for that.
but yeah, the animations are cool.
imo the whole "it should work after 2 hooks" solution is not working out. it feels cheap (we literally just increase a number by one) and it would render the offerings completely useless. there really is no reason why that shouldnt just be basekit for every killer, honestly.
imo, if we're gonna nerf mories, we should completely rework their activation condition or add something new to them.
ive had the idea to make them obsession based, so you cant actively decide who to kill after they have been hooked once, the mori decides that for you. hook the obsession, down them a 2nd time, mori, get a new obsession. inbetween no one gets killed by the killers hand (ebony mori idea - ivory can honestly stay the way it is imo)

You shouldn't expect the mori to just give you a free ez win.
It's for the cool death animation. Take it or leave it.
1 -
I can just imagine the surge of people running Nemesis for that, lol. I've gotten Rancor to allow me to mori multiple people because of Nemesis before, so I'd imagine it would be similar.
0 -
Except you can mori all 4 with eboni...
0 -
Yea but that kinda gets rid of the whole reason ebony Morris exist
0 -
So, what's the point of a Mori if it only works on death hook? If it's to save time, then at most points I could just hook them in the same time the Mori takes, and if it's to prevent having to carry, there are ways to prevent flashlight saves and body blocking. It would literally just become a cosmetic.

To reward killers for doing their job with a nice execution which gives them more bloodpoints than a normal hooking. Also gives survivors some what of a chance against them.
0 -
Ebony Mori needs a nerf, there's no debating that it should remain the same when, by mathematics, the killer can skip 2/3 of their objective.
The same applies to keys, they can allow survivors to skip their first and second objective by immediately escaping via the hatch.
However, they both need to be nerf simultaneously, not independently just so both sides are given fair treatment. 😁

So, you feel like killers should be rewarded with a boring ~10 second animation that never changes with the only purpose of giving more bloodpoints, even though a half decent killer will pretty much completely fill sacrifice and brutality during the game, while completely neutering the advantage it gives so it's easier to play against for survivors. Killers aren't puppies that should be rewarded for playing the game with a cool little animation and a little more bloodpoints.

in that case, why not just make them basekit?
i wont waste 7k points on them then - and they wouldnt change anything gameplay wise anyway
0 -
They've already been nerfed. Before you the killer could Mori you without even hooking you
0 -
Because late game plays with people on deathhook can still be made. But if you bring a Mori, that person is at least guarantied dead. No flashlight save on death hook, DS, etc will cuck you. They are dead.

I personally equated Mori's to insta heals, which are no longer a thing.
0 -
It's actually true when people say most mori's go unused. Mori's do nothing for a killer in terms of levels, emblems and bloodpoints.
All it does is take up an offering slot that could have been used for a bloodpoint offering.
Keys are actually a bigger problem. Mori's don't count towards emblems. Key escapes do. Keys are also far more common than mori's since the EGC was introduced.
1 -
thats not worth being an ultra rare tho.
0 -
I mean neither are either of the Survivor's ultra rares. They are such a shell of their former self yet they still are ultra rare.
1 -
Mori's and insta heals are completely different.
To get a mori, the killer had to earn the ability to do it. They had to chase, down and hook someone. Possibly losing 2-3 generators in the process depending.
The old instaheal...what did the survivor do to earn it's functionality? Drop a pallet in a chase, and tap the spacebar? OOOOOOOOO

I think you're seeing an increase in moris partly due to the ruin nerf but mostly due to the Tome wanting a kill by any means. I'm still on part one and just did the mori challenge last night. After two hooking them .
0 -
There is no "mori" challenge.
0 -
Mori's literally have more impact by straight up destroying the pace of the normal game. It can become a 3v1 very quickly with a shameless tunnel mori off of first hook. Very skillful to wait for BL 1 and hit the survivor, I know.
1 -
survivors: dont tunnel its boring
killers:....nah, we’re gonna tunnel
survivors: *bring perks to counter tunneling*
killers: >:( PlAy FaIr OmG
1 -
It's a never-ending cycle of the 5 stages of grief, except they skip acceptance and loop back to denial.
0 -
It can, but as others have said, mori's largely go unused.
0 -
Not everyone used insta heals either.
1 -
Oh, and you think killers should be given free kills from a broken offering without putting effort in?
0 -
No... you would still be able to mori everyone (which is the reason they exist) but it would only be on death hook.
They would be more balanced like that.
0 -
Moris should never be touched you #&^$&#&^$^%##^?-%-***#^*

Ebony is our revenge for the dumb nerfs which entitled survivor mains asked for
0 -
Yes, it totally doesn't take any skill at all to close out a chase and get a hook. Also, nice job at flipping the question back at me when you realized you couldn't defend your change to mori's.
