Glad that BHVR never dissappoints in that regard 👍

Anyone got player count for the platforms?
2 -
I saw TricksterShadow say 200,00 on Twitter. I don’t know where he got those numbers
3 -
My spies and agents tell me the breakdown is something like this:
~223,000 total; approx 87000 on pc, 77000 on ps, 45000 on xbox, and 14000 everything else.
Now keep in mind they are an utterly unreliable pool of info even on the very best of days.
Also good luck getting official counts due to UEA deals with the consoles.
8 -
That seems like a reasonable number.
3 -
Now keeping in mind around 85% of those on Xbox and PS are still toiling away on the prior gen consoles, and will be for the immediate future, silence on these issues is all the more damning imo.
6 -
That is some insane lag... You sure it's not just your network settings? Is the optimization problem mostly on console?
0 -
My upload speed is 238 mbps and my download is 48 currently.
It is not my internet, as has been established previously.
This is the state of DBD on Consoles and lower end PC's.
17 -
Yeah, as killer you fight a 1 vs 5. 4 other survivors and the game itself.
8 -
At this point I think it's fair to assume that console optimization is cancelled.
If it was coming they could say so. It would make people happy.
But now imagine that it was cancelled, and they announced that. Imagine the outrage that would cause, right before a big release (Resident Evil chapter).

It's best to just upgrade to the newest consoles or buy a very good PC (that's what I did). Optimization probably isn't going to happen on toaster
computers or old consoles.
1 -
That's not lag. That's literally the current DBD performance issue all old gen consoles and low spec PCs experience regularly.
I've experienced even worse freezes than these (3 full seconds being the longest game freeze so far) yet I have NEVER gotten even the slightest fps drop whilst playing Destiny 2's PVP in almost 1000 hours (total so far).
So yeah, definitely not a connection issue otherwise we would experience fps drops and rubberbanding in other online games, too.
Just fyi: My console is hardwired to my router as well.
13 -
I plan too eventually when the new consoles are available to everyone. I just wanna ride my XB1 out until I need to upgrade.

I've played this game since close to the beginning on PS4. I love the game itself. The fact I'm still playing it after all these years is testament to that. I have never played another game consistently for that long. Like others here I have been frustrated from the start with the little bugs that never get fixed. Regardless I enjoyed the game enough it was easy to overlook them.
When dedicated servers came to PS4 thing got significantly worse. From the start of the PS4 dedicated servers I began to have lag in every match. I experienced some before that, but it got significantly worse after. I began to be booted from matches because of "no network connection". I have AT&T fiber with a direct ethernet connection to my PS4. I can play hours and hours of Fortnite, Call of Duty, etc without so much as a second of lag, but playing DBD comes with constant lag and dropped connections. In other words the lag and dropped connections aren't my internet. If it was my internet I would be getting the same results with other games. The last time I experienced a connection issue with a game other than DBD was over a year ago, and that was a complete outage in my area. I get disconnected from the DBD servers often enought that I end up reaching 30 minute DC penalties and have to quit playing for a few days to keep from reaching a point of being banned.
I will continue to play DBD until I get bored with it. I think BHVR struck gold with the concept of this game. However, I came to the personal opinion a few months after the PS4 dedicated servers that BHVR could care less about the quality of the experience for their customers. I will never again even start playing another game with the BHVR label because the sheer frustration of dealing with their issues on an otherwise enjoyable game isn't something I want to go through again.

It's so frustrating coming back to DBD after playing other games that don't have performance issues even though they are online, have way more going on, and have way better graphics. DBD is empty compared to the other games and yet a hit on another player no where near me will cause my game to freeze while the game adds a status effect to their screen.
I thought with new UI that even though it's terrible it would atleast fix the issue of status effects popping up on the screen, especially since they said it was built from scratch. Instead we got crappy UI with same issues plaguing console.

This isn’t a reasonable solution though when the reason a lot of us hung on playing this mess in the hope it will be fixed, is because of the dev update from March 2019 linked in this thread that outlines a very detailed plan to get to 60fps on base consoles and low end PCs.
After 2 years of waiting and spending money on the game, to now be told to suck it up and buy a new machine that wasn’t even announced when they told us their plans for the base consoles just isn’t acceptable.
Whats worse is that the devs themselves aren’t telling us that, they are completely silent and have not commented on wether they have given up or not.
I think after all this time we should at least be able to get an official comment.
60fps sounded impossible when they announced it in 2019 and now it seems like it was just hot air to trick us into sticking with and supporting the game despite the mess it’s been in the whole time, knowing that by the time people got frustrated with it there would probably be new hardware out and if half move to that and half stop playing; there are always new players to rotate in to replace us and our years of fighting to get attention on the issues acknowledged is for nothing and makes us look like suckers.
It took ages to even get to the stage where they acknowledged the issues and announced the ‘road to 60fps’
15 -
Of course they should fix the performance issues, but I just don't see it happening... especially since the new consoles released. I just accepted that it's probably never gonna happen and bought myself a high-end gaming desktop.

@Pulsar https://youtu.be/Tt0gRZWBj9I hope it helps dude
15 -
Scott has posted!
6 -
id also like to say that theres almost no graphics options on pc. We are capped at 60 fps on a game that is being updated in 2021....
6 -
Not going to tag to avoid notification spam, but thank you so much for taking the time to make that video talking about the issues <3
I agree and would be much more happy with a stable 30fps that we can at least get used to with practice but the inconsistency and choppiness is a killer right now.
6 -
Thank you!
I really appreciate it and I'm so sorry that you are starting to get freezes too.
It's completely ridiculous that the game stutters and freezes on a 1080 Ti.
9 -
As promised, expect a Prestige 4 demo cosmetic via pigeon
8 -
here it is.
9 -
I have a 3060 Ti and I get random frame drops. My friend has a 2080 Ti which is an absolute beast of graphics card and also has the same issue. Texture pop-in is really bad on PC, do you experience this on console?
4 -
As in, a house on hHaddonfield changes color when you get closer?
If so, then yes.
Bushes and smaller rocks also pop in when you get close.
Also, the render distance is pretty bad. You have a tough time seeing across the map.
9 -
Stunning
7 -
Hey @Pulsar Scott actually mentioned you
6 -
I saw <3
I appreciate that he's talking about it, but its so ridiculous that he has a 1080 Ti and still has issues.
That should be a huge warning sign to BHVR.
What do they want us to do, buy a 2080 Ti?
13 -
The only bright side I can bring up is that I'm glad I'm not the only one and lots of people are experiencing these things. Performance is def getting worse. And I have a 1080 TI just like Scott. Should not have problems with this when I can run a lot of other games with 120+ FPS easy.
Hopefully they do something about this. But wouldn't be surprised if they don't.
10 -
So like can we ######### have a "health" chapter for once instead of pushing out a half backed chapter? Not sure why they cant do what rainbow six did.
6 -
Absolute legend Scott actually did it
3 -
I tend to have the same issues, doesn't matter if I play killer or survivor. I play on Xbox One X. The biggest issue I find is that it always triggers during the most inconvenient times. During skillchecks which you'll then end up missing, during hits, when bloodlust triggers, etc. Really disorienting when it happens, most of the time I lose sight of the survivor I was trying to chase or just fail to make distance on the killer because I ran into a wall during the freeze.
I doubt this video helps, I think there's plenty of evidence/proof already, but figured I'd upload it anyways.
10 -
More clips help show people this isn't an isolated issue.
8 -
Was looking through comments on Scott's video and this one stood out. Builds just to trigger fps drops on other players shouldn't be a thing.
13 -
Do you think you could find some and link them to my profile?
I'd just like to know if they exist.
6 -
I have a great connection speed and a ps5 that preforms fairly well, but with this game freezing can happen so much that its unbearable
5 -
It happened! Great job @Pulsar!!!
More eyes on the cause can only help. Looking through the comments of Scott's vid I saw many mentioning the same triggers and issues we've all illustrated here, and I saw too many a comment from PCrs as well. I feel he def did us a solid making it.
On a side note, Pulsar you so famous can we have your autograph??
7 -
Absolutely he did us a huge favor.
Any word from Puppers?
4 -
Yeah i get obvious render issues as well. They seem to be only on the older un-reworked maps to me, but I could be mistaken. I'll have to pay attention to that.
3 -
I think I've seen some on Shelter Woods, but I'll have to pay more attention.
Also, hooray for 36 pages and 1100 comments
5 -
Thank you very much for this video.
Any attention on this matter could help us greatly.
Much appreciated 🙏
7 -
Damn this is a lot of replies.
Main issue I have is lag with Doctor skill checks
5 -
Yeah, Doc kinda destroys FPS on Console for a lot of people.
4 -
You're so awesome dude!
3 -
I thought I had already commented on this. Damn you ADD.
Yeah, back before I bought my PC (and back before my PS4 just died) I was genuinely considering just quitting the game because it was so unpleasant to play. I can't count how many times I lost a chase to a random game stutter.
Nowadays, I have a GTX 1650 Super. It's nothing amazing, but it can handle other, much more graphically intensive games just fine. Yet, I'll still get random frame drops (always in the middle of a match for some reason) and the occasional stutter.
Come on BHVR. You can be better than this.
5 -
We love to see it
5 -
How are they 5 years in and the optimization is still this bad? That blows my mind.
9 -
I'm genuinely starting to wonder if they can.
