That's a very bold assumtpion.
Feeling like an outsider or different to others is not a trait unique to lgbt, not even close to that. Not everything revolves around sexual preferences.

He could be or he could be not. Neither of the quotes indicates him being queer.
There's a whole set of reasons for one to feel excluded - childhood traumas, higher/lower intellectual capacities, family issues, race, health, being introverted overall, and so on. Different sexual preferences are just one of the many reasons somewhere in the middle of this list.

OP cares, and that's not a "point", it's a question.
Just because it's a fictional character doesn't mean there isn't an established lore. Harry Potter, for instance, isn't an Italian duke from the 14th century.

There was no misunderstanding.
jake never was confirmed to be heterosexual so even if the tome story would imply or confirm he is gay it wouldn’t have changed anything, just added new info about the character. Which is the entire reason for the time story’s to exist. Giving more lore/background to the characters.

I don't care and many others wont if Jake is gay, if he is, if people portray him as gay, fine, i don't know how this helps in the game, sex or gender shouldn't be a thing, if people say people as gay, straight etc my point is if people want or wish to believe in such then let them.

Too late, the game has had sexes since release (otherwise I couldn't know that the Trapper is a man, for instance), and sexual orientations since the Nurse.

There definitely were homophobic comments. Nothing implied Jake would be another character with no lore other than „he is gay“, as he already had established lore without any mentioning and the thread itself was speculation as the tome story was all about that topic.
i am not saying the person is a complete homophobe. But they made more than one homophobic comments. I have read those.

Sexual orientations aren't for the gameplay, it's merely for the story of a certain character and for representation.

If the game didn't have sexes, I couldn't know that Jake and Dwight are men, nor that Meg and Claudette are women back when the game was released. You may not care, but other people do, as has been pointed out in every single thread of this nature. Again, what do you hope to gain by acting like this is new information?

My point is sexual orientation is not part of the game play, if you wish to think someone is gay, straight etc let it happen, think as you like about a character I felt it was obvious

It’s a game, a medium in which the creators can express what they want and they can tell the story’s and create the characters they want.
the creators care, many people in the community care about lore, let them care if it is important for them. There is no harm in doing so, the opposite actually, good representation can help.

Just for the record, I don't actually care. However, it is because I don't care that I support it, since it won't negatively affect me (or anyone else, for that matter), but will make some people happier. There is literally no downside to this.
People who don't care about something can't also be actively against that thing. People who claim not to care but are actively against LGBT representation do care.

But we already knew it had no effect on the gameplay (and I don't recall anyone claiming otherwise), so you telling me or anyone else that is redundant.
We only wish for representation in the character's backstory or their tome entry.

Nobody said it's needed, they said it's wanted. Just like how we didn't need any of the killers besides the 3 we had at release. Hell, we didn't even need the game, for that matter. But those things are wanted.

but what does that have to do with this topic at all? Sexual orientation, relationships, genders etc were pretty much always a part of this game. And with the amount of lore which gets deeper and deeper it’s to be expected that something not heteronormative would get mentioned officially in-game.
so why do you want to tell people - including the creators themselves - they shouldn’t care?

Except BHVR has added in heterosexual relationships and excluded lgbt+ relationships and characters (ie. no enby/trans characters). So I'd love to headcanon Frank as gay but he's dating Julie pretty commitedly according to the lore. Oni has a wife and kid, Nurse has a husband that's an integral part of her lore, Felix has a girlfriend and was expecting a child, David had an ex girlfriend-
So, yeah, I'd love to headcanon that except I can't due to existing lore. BHVR literally admitted to actively excluding lgbt relationships last year and were going to make an effort to improve- and then partnered with a charity to do so. An lgbt+ character is coming and many people do care.
