Why is killers being weak suddenly okay?
Comments
-
There are not many M1s that can attack through walls.
0 -
She is not "weak" though. She is a solid B tier. She can create strong pressure, because she has great map pressure. I played her, and sure while she is not on artist or blight level. She is not weak as everyone is claiming. But I do think she needs a buff to increase her map pressure. And when you look at it the last true "weak" killer that was released was the trickster, but overall they really have been releasing solid killers since pyramid head.
0 -
No it doesn't, a c grade is right in the middle and why not have them be A rank especially for an asymmetrical game where you have one strong vs 4 weak instead of making them weak and unsatisfactory before they are even released.
Or do you secretly like the game to devolve down to match streaks consisting of 2 killers.
0 -
You see, I've only just stopped playing pyramid head a few days ago (burnout), and not once did I ever have an issue where I couldn't win at all playing as him.
0 -
Good for you but people have been able to do well with legion at times to so what is the point to your argument?
I said his m2 is slow so why is that not an issue?
0 -
I thought you were arguing that it was though?
0 -
You can definitely win with every killer on the roster right now. Are some harder/weaker than others? Of course. But to say someone can't win with C tier and lower killers indicates a player problem, not a killer power problem.
More to the point, I think fun needs to be the consideration first and foremost with killers and not every killer needs to be designed with a 5% edge case in mind. Many problems people have with lower tier killers are matchmaking problems at the end of the day. I'd rather have a killer that is fun for both sides but a bit on the weaker side than another Pinhead or Twins.
3 -
remember guys his m2 is too slow and you can't use it outside of animation lock. terrible anti-loop capabilities btw
here's 3 and a half minutes of just me using his power + getting very easy hits with it.
maybe youre just not as good as you think you are at him
4 -
That it's slow? Yes I am cause it's an issue along with PH's perks not being good for the most part.
0 -
Never said I did and much like every other bullshit argument I don't have the perks you have either.
0 -
ah yes
because the perks make you better at his attacks
like, hes definitely not an easy killer to learn, but he's also definitely not too slow. maybe a bit clunky but not too slow- he has one of the best anti-loop powers in the game through hits alone, not to mention the ability to zone too.
2 -
Survivors like having weak Killers to bully, that's why.
Many people play this game as a bully simulator, it's gross but it is what it is.
5 -
I don't have the perks you have
I'm starting to think you never played Pyramid Head.
like ever.
3 -
I have to at least a decent level maybe instead of taking shots at me due to assumption maybe tell me why my argument is false because you have not answered the whole point of this.
0 -
Perks have nothing to do with POTD.
2 -
No but they can help with positioning to use his m2. Like I said my main issue with ph is that his shot is slow and telegraphed so there are times where the shot should hit but doesn't.
Also remember as a side thing some good perks are a little wonky for ph because if they require hooks you can't capitalize on the effects at times.
0 -
How do they help with positioning?
1 -
so... what, you're using Play With Your Food or something? No perks really affect movement speed or mobility at all- positioning remains identical if you're using Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer/PGTW or BBQ/Furtive Chase/Brutal/Enduring (terrible build btw).
2 -
That's just a matter of how the scale is benchmarked.
No it doesn't, a c grade is right in the middle
C is above the middle. F is the 6th letter. There's no 'middle' in a string of 6, it's a gap between 3 and 4. The middle is the gap between C and D. So C is above the middle.
and why not have them be A rank especially for an asymmetrical game where you have one strong vs 4 weak instead of making them weak and unsatisfactory before they are even released.
Because you're dealing with balance and you can't just keep pushing killers to higher power tiers. A C tier, realistically, should have a decent shot at getting their hooks in. An A tier would do so with high consistency.

The issue with releasing bad characters is that you want my money for it. Why would I spend money on a character that is essentially a joke character? What motivation do I have to spend my money on a DLC that gives me a weak killer and 6 perks ranging from bad to "ok"? If you're going to make the killer bad, then you need to toss in a meta changing perk to get anyone but diehard players to buy the DLC. Especially when it's cells only. I believe this will be the worst selling licensed DLC and that Sadako will not do anything to reverse the trend of the game consistently losing players every month for about half a year now. Nor will it do anything to reverse the issue of survivor to killer ratio being bad. Basically, the DLC doesn't offer much of anything at all and if you left the game, you have no reason to come back for this DLC.
If you want to sell a product, make it worth the money. If you want to release bad characters, make them free. I genuinely don't consider Sadako C tier. I consider her D tier. I'd have to ponder on if I think she's bottom 5 material. She's a weak mix of a worse Wraith power, worse Freddy power, and old Freddy's handicap. He condem basically doesn't do anything at all unless you intentionally let it. Her power is an easily shut off teleport that might only let you go to places survivors aren't going to be, and a weak stealth for a hit and run in the age of COH. She's bad. She's not "ok C tier." She's bad. Like Trickster was.

Brace yourself. MMR comparisons inbound.

Ok first off where did you go to school a grading system normally doesn't have an E grade it's A,B,C,D,F so to that logic again it is still middle and secondly, try saying that when you have a terrible matchmaking systems an over abundance of rng and with how forgiving survivor perks are now all mixed together and tell me how "decent" it is after that.
Also just wanted to add this but take a fighting game or any character pvp game and a new character is being released but it's shown that they are on the lower gradings it doesn't matter if they are fun concept wise, who in there right mind would spend 7.99 or so for a character that you will use a handful of times and never look back to again.

Suddenly? Huh? It has been this was since as long as I have been around.
0 -
oh im just waiting
ignore the fact that kate in the first match is a fog whisperer with 5k hours im just secretly low mmr
2 -
Perks can help with knowing where a survivor is and you can act accordingly to it so it can land its mark that is if you use it outside of animation locks.
0 -
Wait - are you going into matches without perks? No [BAD WORD] you're losing.
1 -
Probably because not everyone plays with only the things that maximise their potential to win and instead play for fun.
0 -
It's clunky and no the build I have is stbfl, bbq, franklins, nwo unfortunately some perks that would help more I do not have. My main issue like I said is the shots the wind up is slow and the shot itself is telegraphed to it can be clunky on actually hitting someone.
0 -
I am using perks but I don't have much in terms of builds.
0 -
Okay in that case never fix balance since it doesn't matter if something is so bad you cannot win no matter how good you play that character or if something is so strong you can't win against it. Only fun matters right?
0 -
Which would be nice if the matchmaking wasn't as bad or at least had a casual lobby so people who don't want to sweat can have a good match.
0 -
well- stbfl and franklin's are both terrible perks for him, so that definitely won't help.
but the shots being slow to wind up + telegraphed only holds you back for so long. with enough time + patience (+ actually playing him regularly not dropping him for half a month then expecting your warmup game to go well lmfao) it goes from clunky, telegraphed, slow + awful to use to flickable, smooth, hidden, very good to use, and excellent for mindgaming where you'll actually hit.
the perk "im all ears" is so good on him, but you dont need it- like, in the video i sent i got a lot of hits that werent from im all ears, and some that were (like the meg dead harding into the pallet) i wouldve taken regardless of the proc. imho its not that slow or clunky once you- well, for lack of a better term, get better.
1 -
I love people when they talk killers they don't play. I can't play for Pyramid because i did not play with him so much. Just 10 - 15 games for achievement hunt.
People are calling my boi Nemesis is weak but when i play with him, i don't feel weak. He is monster.
2 -
So why are you complaining?
2 -
Thats where pure luck comes into play. You have no way of knowing whether it will hit or even land in a spot where they are. Prediction plays a part in it but it's not entirely prediction it mostly boils down to just luck.
1 -
I'm not complaining you asked me what issues there were and I never said they were major one like twins having notorious bug issues
0 -
When you decide you can have an argument you don't jump straight to saying "Well you're bad at the game." or don't just straight up insult everyone who disagrees with you then we may have a conversation.
1 -
I felt the opposite with Nemesis cause his power didnt feel like an upgrade when you hit the next phases.
0 -
What about the add ons tbh my luck with them hasn't been too bad but problematic.
0 -
you put me on a dni list why break it suddenly i was enjoying the silence
also, they literally said they weren't that great at pyramid head so like, maybe my point was proven true that he only feels that bad if youre not good at him?? like cmon bestie
also, "or don't just straight up insult everyone who disagrees with you then we may have a conversation"- you ever heard the idiom "the pot called the kettle black"?
luck? absolutely not. you watch how they play and you adapt your playstyle, and as they adapt to your own your keep updating your own. you don't get lucky, you play better.
2 -
T2 makes you monster. T3 was weak but not anymore. T3 is also solid now. You are not losing distance for bait survivors with tentacle anymore, you are moving faster than old version.
0 -
You know how hard it would be to get all of the Killers on the same level
Plus this game has been more perk centric rather then Killer power's and base game
0 -
add-ons you don't really need them, but if you were going to prioritise some then go for range first, immidiately (ie. burning man painting + wax doll). they are easily easily easily his best.
next up go for recharge + duration, they're kinda nifty (duration moreso than recharge because you can hold your power + position yourself better for longer) but range is still supreme.
his purples are terrible, his iris are terrible, and the increased killer instinct is terrible. his increased duration torment trails vibe in the environment are very mid- theyre okay, not good, not bad. still go for range add-ons if you have a choice (obviously prioritise new perks over those, though lol)
1 -
Dont comment on my forum posts then idk what you want me to say. And yes it is luck because good survivors don't keep a consistent play style they predict you right back. Also how did I insult you in any way in what I said? I just said everytime you have a 'debate' you just open it up with insults and accusations of how they're not as good at the game as you so they don't understand. You did it here so why would I wanna debate or argue with you if thats all you're gonna do?
1 -
And yes it is luck because good survivors don't keep a consistent play style they predict you right back.
you predict and adapt to this and so play better, like i said
Also how did I insult you in any way in what I said?
calling back to past discussions my guy cmon
1 -
What new perks?
0 -
i mean if youre levelling someone + you have perks in their bloodweb that you havent unlocked yet, dont prioritise add-ons over those. general bloodweb tips, not specific to PH but in general
1 -
I agree as a survivor main I think killers SHOULD BE STRONGER. In real life if you meet any of these killers you aren't surviving . Survivor play has a strong role jus saying
0 -
Oh right that's what I'm doing now trying to get where all perks are unlocked
0 -
what a good thing this is a mystical realm controlled by a fictional spider eldritch horror where you can recover from a chainsaw to the back by having someone rub you gently and not real life, then.
let's be real, in real life having a pallet dropped on your head would kill you. you do that to legion and they keel over and just die in one shot. not sure we wanna be applying real life logic to dbd
