2V8: Suggestions for Casual Audience VS Competitive, Seasoned Veterans
I will preface this by stating no group is going to be 100% happy with anything, as we've all seen; however, I do think there can be some things implemented after this last month, and other things that can be organized better.
TDLR: my suggestions are that 2v8 should be the new "casual" mode, whereas 1v4 with perks, should have a focused competitive mode, so seasoned veterans and skilled players are seen and feedback is more effective.
Me yapping:
You might be wondering: "but how will people learn if they aren't thrown in?' DBD needs to create tools & give better visibility for how to play the game in general. Casuals need better in-game tutorials, a dedicated section of the UI where all perks are listed (that isn't clicking on each person), etc. I read on Twitter earlier this week that someone didn't even know what the flashlight was supposed to do until 10 minutes into their first real game.
The 2v8 mode currently has a lack of slugging, which is exactly what casual players wanted. Introducing punishing changes in 1v4 may not be the best option.
A lot of the PTB changes and 2v8 additions are geared at low-mmr survivor mains, which is fine (coming from a surv main), but I do think it's punishing those that have thousands of hours and have worked hard to learn and counter the 300+ perks in the game.
Suggestions for current state of 2v8
- generator progress is way too fast currently, progress speed needs to be slightly lowered, or put less gens & further apart. I've had games go by WAY too quick in this mode
- allow all killers to be chosen; it's a casual mode. let it happen.
- scrap the constant BP bonus if made to be permanent and give BP based on class actions performed (rebuilding pallets, putting trap in generator. Currently, you get no BP incentives with the scout class besides basics (plz correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall anything extra, whereas medics get BP for healing, others get BP for stunning killer w/ gen traps, etc)
Suggestions for competitive mode
- clean up the current perks
- add some anti-slugging changes, tunneling changes i'm still iffy on
- introduce rank system instead of the current "grading" system
At it's core, DBD 1v4 is not beginner friendly, and casual players shouldn't be piled in with those with game sense, strategy, 300+ perk knowledge, etc. There needs to be a clear division so everyone knows 1) what they're getting themselves into 2) feedback can be more effective and 3) newcomers can decide if they want to invest time into learning 300+ perks or just go in and have fun with a simplified class.

I love the idea of "better in-game tutorials", they could even do like "practice/beginner rounds" with Ai generated killers/survivors or something to really show how to play and practice.
Make things beginner friendly!
Make information and Tutorials more convenient and informational.

2v8 casual mode and a 1v4 ranked mode with rank rewards (to encourage competitive players to stay there and grind)
