Do you believe that the new MMR system is working?

Theres been mixed reviews currently about the new MMR system. Some say it works, some say its all over the place. Is it too early to judge? Should we give it more time before we make a decision so that it has a chance of leveling out? Or do you believe its flawed or doesnt work. U can also tell us any sugesstions towards the new mmr system

Tell me your thoughts because I would love to see everyones opinion

No my killer games feel awful and sleep inducing. I try to take chase with the 1-2 competent survs and the others manage to get 1/4th of a gen done and a dull totem.

I'm actually getting survivors who can beat me on killer's I'm NOT good at, which is better than it was before. So I would say for "below average" to "middle of the pack" is improved. It's the "high" MMR players that understand this game in and out that are having a problem with MMR right now. They need to account for players who win back to back to back. That's a sign they need more drastic MMR shifts. Win streaking should be a sign they are WAY out of proper MMR level. They should have each consecutive win after the 3rd be a low exponential curve of increased MMR gain until they start losing, then you can have them level out by losing a few times (I know 'low exponential' sounds like an oxymoron, but "low" is relative here. The increase should start relatively normal and grow more insane with increased wins to prevent "I won 3 games and now I'm facing the top 1% of gamers" scenario). The losses in this state would also be an increased loss to MMR, but a flat change so that a consecutive loss streak will put you closer to your level over time instead of plummeting your MMR back to the level you were at in the beginning.

I had an amazing first few days where I was getting matches against and with competent players around my skill level. Now I'm unfortunately just stomping brand new players.

I have the opposite - was a 6-7 wins out of 10 matches killer before. Now I'm losing most matches. I'm seeing very high mmr players stomp all their matches. Something is wrong.

I think it's still too early to tell. I don't think they could have launched the new MMR system at a worse time. We had a new chapter with a niche but still very strong Killer and the Sprint Burst nerf, followed up by nearly a month of 2V8, where most of the more casually inclined Survivors are playing right now (myself included). And pretty soon we're going to have a huge nerf to yet another popular Survivor perk with the gutting of Windows of Opportunity.

So I think it will take at least a couple of months to get to the point where most of us will have played enough regular 1V4 Trials to finally find our proper placing in the new system.

That said, in my very limited experience of the new MMR before 2V8 returned, I'd say my Survivor games are slightly better than they were. For the first 10 or so games it was absolute chaos, but then my games started to feel much more like they used to but with more active and helpful teammates than before. At the end of the day, that's all I really want from my teammates. I still don't think it works all that well (and it never will so long as queue times are the biggest priority), but I'd say it's a slight improvement. I've yet to play any Killer games under the new system, so I can't comment on that.

Funny thing is, the last time they messed around with MMR, all the big streamers were complaining that their games had become way too difficult, but this time around a lot of them are saying now their games are too easy. BHVR just can't win. What is it that the player base wants? More varied Trials where you have the freedom to run goofy off meta builds and still be in with a chance of winning, or a stricter match-making system that gives players a more consistent challenge? We don't seem to be able to decide.

Short of introducing a ranked mode with stricter match-making, I don't think it's possible to satisfy both the pros that play this game for a living (and advertise the game for BHVR) and the casual gamers who make up the majority of the player base.

I am very curious for the data but I doubt they will share them, Judgment due to Nightlight has 58 % kill rate and that's kill rate alone, with abandons etc. i expect about 10 % higher number.

BTW, today had about 10+ players with less than 40hrs, doing adepts and so on against thousands of hours full meta killers sweating for 4k. No mercy, nothing, even when it was blanatly obvious that they have no idea what is going on. If this was when I started playing I would probably quit quite soon.

Hey folks! You may have already seen, but late last week, we made an adjustment to how the matchmaking system functions, given the reports of more widely varying skill levels in matches. I'd love to know if you've noticed any difference in your match quality through the weekend and the beginning of this week.

I feel like you should also consider the team result as many people are saying for the survivor side because sometimes you can be a gen jockey but die at the end but the rest escape and the game will consider it a loss since they werent well rounded

I will say, this is the kind of thing that the team is monitoring in the wake of the MMR changes, so I appreciate your perspective on it. Is this something you're encountering regularly?
