The message for me is always "Dedicated server is not responding : disconnecting" i do not have a screenshot sorry but i can get one next time.

Also @Jocelynbee i would really appreciate it if you could keep us updated on this issue. Because it seems like this issue has been going on for a long time and it'd be reassuring to know the devs are still aware of it and working on it. Any update would be appreciated even if it may be disappointing to hear. Thank you.

This is on a 2nd account so this proves the issue is not account specific. (other people already proved that but i wanted to see for myself.)

Thank you, Jocelyn! This has happened to me again twice today (PC - Steam, during a health state validation). I don't have a screenshot of the error message, but it's the same "Dedicated Server is not responding; disconnecting" error that others have mentioned and grabbed. I have attached the log.

This is in a custom game against 4 survivor bots

Just had it again on PS4.
The game was already over - it was loading the menu.
Then it seems it starts loading again and we are back at the endscreen with the "Dedicated Server not responding" message...

Just had the issue again in a custom game against bots on 7.3.3, despite the above patch note. But, it hasn't happened to me in a live match since friday i think. But i have been playing less because of the fear of matchmaking ban
Also, the map was hawkins

I just tried playing custom bots hawkins again and i got the error instantly after spawning in. Is hawkins not working correctly in custom games or something?

I just had the same issue twice today, and have had it many times before. Both times playing as Pinhead, both times at the moment I used the power or soon after.
I tried posting a screenshot of the disconnect message, but I need a "Garden.Upload.App" permission to do so. It was the standard "Dedicated server is not responding; disconnecting..." message.
Here is my log.
Some days it does not happen, in others it happens frequently, leading to very frustrating moments, especially at the end of the matches.

For me, it's happening when I'm in the lobby and a match has been found. I just can't go to the match lobby, it gives me the 'dedicated server is not responding, disconnecting' message. It has been happening since yesterday and i just can't play the game. I already tried everything and nothing seems to work.

Just deleted my game , no point in attempting to play a game you bought to play with friends if you can't play it with friends.
The support answer of : Have you tried basic network solution and "this is all we have for now" is just a joke.

Can't enter to a lobby for more than 3 days now. After to find a match the server just pop this message.
Already reset router. NAT and UPnP working fine as always...
Firmwares update, Windows updated. Game full reinstalled to test. Nothing worked. Always the same issue.
I thought it could be some related to the PTB, I tried to play the PTB without success... Even so I think the issue started because the PTB.

Happened to me as a survivor and i saw the killer was on twitch, i looked at the stream and i was the only one who got disconnected :(. So i guess it showing that everyone got dc'd in the end lobby when this happens is not correct.

Hi, Im new to the game,played some games on ps5 and made the switch go pc yesterday, i noticed when playing a full game with a group on discord after every full match I get kicked, cant rejoin, have to reboot game, then back in group but when they find a match I get dedicated server problem so I gotta reboot AGAIN, and then it finally works but then the whole process happens again after that match is finished. Its not a technical issue as you're saying here in other posts since many people apparently are having this problem (on here and on reddit is enough proof)
I verified my files, reinstalled game, disabled firewall. Please look into this cause and try to find a fix, as a new player this is really not giving this game a good name atm while I really want to like it..

Incredibly frustrating!! Its still an issue on Xbox too.
I lost all my progress towards a hard challenge and got a 15 minute ban. I cant even play anymore and lost my good addons.
Im a real big fan of this game and can normally get over this kind of stuff but even this is getting ridiculous. I played 5 matches and got disconnected in 3 of them. I didnt have an issue during the event but right after everything went downhill. Behavior really needs to sort this out soon.

3 days later, still happening.
Updated windows, drivers, redid the verify files, still kicking me out after every full game with people it kicks me, wont let me rejoin. Have to restart. Then first 2 or 3 attempts it gives me disconnect from dedicated server.

Happened again as survivor. No network indicators during the match, was just following a clown and kate in chase before suddenly they both walk in a straight line before i disconnect.
Is there really no information BHVR can give us about this issue at all? At this rate i won't even able to enjoy the Chucky chapter. They are usually very communicative on issues like this but you are the only BHVR member on the forum that has said anything about this at all. It's very frustrating.
This happens pretty much every day i play the game. But i don't have the motivation to upload logs about it because i feel like nothing is being done about it.
At this rate, i am being forced to quit the game, aren't i.

Also this issue wouldn't bother me as much if i wasn't getting a DC penalty for it. But the fact i am being disconnected completely out of my control (i have tried absolutely everything i and the support can think of) feels awful.
I don't want to quit the game but i am usually playing this game to enjoy myself and being disconnected and suspended instead just makes me feel worse than i was beforehand and i can't deal with it anymore.

Every. Single. Day. At least once a day. A persistent problem that has happened over quite a few years with many different people. So little communication from the devs about this issue. It is an absolutely known problem.
I would very much appreciate at least adjustments to it, if not an outright fix, such as adding no matchmaking penalty, or giving you score for up the point you played, or not consuming the add-ons and offerings you made, or not cancelling the progress you had on your challenges on the match...

Here's another log from today's instance of disconnect. So disappointing.
Please acknowledge it in some way so that we can feel hope that it is being investigated, and the share of players who face this issue are not being ignored.

Starting to think this simply might be a server side issue. I used a VPN to connect to canada and i played a few games on my 2nd account cuz im banned for 2 days on my main (completely because of this issue btw, i do not rage quit) and despite having bad signal, i am not having the connection problems i am having when connected to my local servers.
For as long as i have been having this issue there's also been an issue where the game has moments of extreme lag, red signal red ping but only for a few seconds and then the game is back to normal. My theory is some servers have a problem where players can be intermittently disconnected. And sometimes it happens for too long to the point where you get kicked from the match.
I think this because i see something similar happen in the menus sometimes, i go to the rift screen, it takes forever to load, i go back, i am stuck in the menu it's taking forever to load, then after like 10 seconds it's back.
This doesn't happen for me in the two other games that i play. It's a DBD issue.
So therefore using a vpn to change your location which means being connected to a different server (i checked the other people in the lobby, they are also in canada and or US) possibly might allow you to avoid the issue.
I chose canada because that's where BHVR is based so i assume the servers will be the most stable because if the devs play on those servers they will notice if there's a problem with those servers specifically.
I can't yet be 100% on this theory but it seems like the only explanation that makes sense at this time.
It's not software, reinstalling the game and the operating system doesn't fix it.
It's not hardware, it happens on all platforms.
It's not my network, i've tried to improve my connection as much as possible and use a VPN for your local servers and it doesn't fix it.
It's not account related, you can try steam library share.
It being a server side issue would also explain why it only happens to some people and not others.
Also i know deducing that it's a server issue from the error message looks dumb but the reason why i initially thought it might not be a server side issue is because it doesn't happen to everyone, and also from streams i've saw i am the only one disconnected when it happens. Also, BHVR in support tell everyone who reports this to look at troubleshooting first (fortunately for me after i told them i already tried that they accepted it as a bug report but i know most other people end up being told it's their issue)

So i guess now all there is to do is wait.
Meanwhile i having continued playing some on a VPN connected to US East (whilst playing from the UK) and i have not had any disconnections despite being at yellow/red signal.
So if you are on PC i do recommend trying this out if you have the issue and reporting back your findings.
If you are on console there are ways to apply a VPN to your router but i have no idea how to do any of that unfortunately.
