Ruin had it's time in the sun buffing killers who would have 4k'd anyway. I saw it all the time used as "insurance" and it would make matches depressing. The time it extended the match if not cleansed was ridiculous. With the extra time a match, every killer seems godlike when all the pallets are gone. Glad Ruin is dead,…

If survivors are spread out the killer will have a higher chance of finding someone while patrolling gens and increase interruption chances. I think the change is designed to encourage use of other perks that either have synergy with Prove or for us to change our builds in general. Same reason they targeted BBQ and Live…

Time management is the most important skill. Break a few pallets and pressure other survivors until somebody make a mistake. "Micro fakes" can make the difference. For example you signal left but go right once they do not have line of sight. You have to conscious of your red light and hide it whenever you attempt this…
-
I miss the whole mini game of hooking each survivor at least once for BBQ stacks. Bloodpoints were a good motivator.
-
I may actually return to this game after this patch hits.
-
I wish the drones chased survivors around like guards but I am willing to try something different.
-
I like her walk but mostly will only see through her eyes.
-
if you swap Jolt with Agitation it will be easier to get to those hooks
-
Hopefully, this gives BVHR the data they need to balance the game around coordination now. It used to be "SWF was just a tiny portion of the game" excuse but now the kill rates will tell the tale soon enough.
-
Demo, Artist, Oni, and Twins usually skip unless I intend to play them for a while and would get them naturally. Doc's, Wraith, Fred's, Mike's, Hag's, Huntresses, and Trapper dailys are so easy in comparison.
-
2 pallet breaks and I turn back to the gens. Eventually, dead zones will appear but it helps if you inflict blindness to counter windows of opportunity.
-
Use the brightest items you have to decorate your hooks. It makes finding them under the boil effect easier. If it is important to you: iron grasp, agitation, starstruck, hubris, or madgrit. Pretty damn strong perk combo and will do damage regardless of boilover.
-
Aliens, Terminator, The Thing
-
If there are one or two gens left I might start being more ruthless than normal. Doing it right from the start guarantees fewer blood points.
-
It just means you put blood points in that character and you should not care what others may think of your performance during a match. DBD is random and circumstances are different every match. It does not matter and only has power over you if you let it. Play who you want and have fun while this game is still a thing.
-
This idea would have been more useful before the status icons. Most killer games feel like you are playing against a SWF now so it is less important.
-
Let it go and just play the game normally.
-
In the killer role, you have to take insults like that in stride as you are a faceless enemy except for the character you play. Some survivors are really into role play and act like whatever killer you are playing really did just try and kill them. I smile and move on to the next match. It is the killer's burden. Post-game…
-
Killer has always been easier for the ones willing to bring the strongest perks. I remember the stomping killers did with the various versions of Ruin, and how it was used by players who were more than capable of killing everyone even without stacked slowdowns. Even the worst skilled killers will kill if given enough time.…
-
Without incentives, players will go with their preferred role, which will lengthen queue times.
-
DBD has the least expensive DLC in the business.
-
I have played quite a bit of Knight and finished all his achievements. I have never used a guard to kick a gen, and I don't use gen-kicking builds for my knight. This change makes it worth doing it so I may start using the guards for this late game.
-
I rarely play Twins but I experienced bugs every time I made the mistake of trying to complete a daily. The only choice is to avoid playing them until it is fixed to save yourself the frustration. I agree the killer should be disabled to prevent others from dealing with it.
-
Try playing the game in different ways with different perks. I like to do Insidious scares by gens that are close to being completed. I go full skill check attack build or anti-heal. Anything but gens because I don't want matches to last forever. They can finish the gens or die but I am not interacting with gens. I only…
-
Dying means nothing in this game. Try to hang loose and take things in stride. Random teams, perks, maps, choices. This is what makes DBD great.
-
Run Strider and Predator and that should help you greatly.
-
I bought Fred at release. I have not used pallet Fred once. I keep telling myself "next match" but never try it
-
I get a kick out of the guards screaming and chasing survivors. I am enjoying him now that I understand how his power works.
-
I do not typically use gen slowdown perks and usually end games with 1 or 2 gens left if I do well. You must be willing to switch targets often to disrupt the gen completion flow. Also, survivors cannot help themselves and will return to a gen that is near completion. This spells their doom many times.
-
Nothing more pathetic that seeing knight go back and forth in front of a hook with a guard patrolling the same area.
-
I got his adept without paying attention to the guard types. I just used them often and it worked out. I also enjoy the guard's screams as they chase and when they get downs it is hilarious. He is different enough from the other killers and is strong. I do not regret putting in time to learn him.
-
From what I can tell interacting with pallets with his power leads to problems. I will stick to paths in open areas for now.
-
This is pure DBD. Random things happen based on the map, perks, add-ons, and choices everyone makes. Getting through that gauntlet is what makes it worth the effort and the reward.
-
A good tip is to stop using guards at hooks. They disappear when the survivor is unhooked. Use the guards in chase and to deny gens and totems.
-
You are giving them power with your greed and lust
-
These days you cannot derank even if you de-pip, so it is much more forgiving. I think the threat of pip loss adds tension, which makes it interesting. I like having something on the line. Pips only have power if you pay attention to them. I highly encourage you to forget they exist and never hover your pointer over your…
-
If you keep playing it will eventually happen. Just do your best and try not to force it as that just makes it frustrating.
-
The game gives you choices. You can be a saint or a devil. I think it is a large experiment to study human behavior.
-
Yes, using knights to box survivors in on some tiles is very satisfying! RPD is hilarious sometimes with the small rooms leaving limited options.
-
Survivor. They get haste when interacting with knight banners. When the horn sounds they can do it. Otherwise, I assume you can do it with clown bottles, but I am not sure.
-
I don't mind the new dead hard as much because I get bp for the slap instead of swinging at the air.
-
Solo queue is pure DBD. The original concept. There can be difficult matches but magic can happen as well. Some of my most memorable matches were the result of 4 strangers banding together in the Solo queue.
-
DBD is an old game. Not many new people compared to the invested player base. The new prestige just makes them more obvious.
-
Certainly, you will get lucky in some matches and get tremendous value. No time limit is nice until you hear that totem explode. The other perks have conditions but they are unavoidable by the survivors.
-
I don't run Hex perks because I don't like having perks disabled, but Plaything provides unique value and is a good timewaster. Blindness add-ons and perks such as Fearmonger and Hysteria are good alternatives that cannot be disabled.
-
I am glad that it will make things better for you. Once you practice enough come back and show them what you got on live! Humans are what make DBD unpredictable.
-
Just do your best and try to have fun. Do not sweat the pips they will come.
-
I wish I could turn off Oni screaming in the lobby.
-
DBD gameplay makes it hard to determine intent, so I would not assume that survivors are even thinking about whether you are a nice killer or not or noticing that you are not playing as ruthlessly as you could. More often they will assume you made some sort of mistake rather than you are a nice type of player. I play…
-
I carried the last survivor past the hatch and walked to the basement hooks instead.
