This is a terrific answer, thanks! The steamer Uncharted__ is particularly good at explaining exactly what he does and why. However, he does it as he's playing, so it's quick and I lose track of the visual component (like, he might be running and by the time my brain processes the explanation, the pallet or loop is gone…

I let the skill check pass if I've had a chance to work on a gen, heal, go through a chest, do a totem, etc. I only use DS if they're downing me off the hook and throwing me right back on again. If they leave for someone else then find me 50 seconds later (or whatever), I don't use it Also, thank you for the suggestion!
-
Cool! I've used a variety of perks, including DS, and they sure do keep me in the game a little longer, so I'll rotate those in again. Hopefully I can learn to loop better too from some focused video tutorials
-
Sure, it's accepting the risk, which is why I hope to improve without using them. I don't mind supplementing skill with strong perks, but I don't want to rely on the perks at the expense of developing better skills, either. Hopefully that makes better sense. :) I've been writing down the suggestions so far, thank you all!
-
I don't mind being insta-downed, slugged, camped, tunneled, or moried, in general. I'd just like to live a bit longer in my matches so I'm not getting killed under 8k so often. It happens about 3 in every 5 matches, lately. I'll try looking up specific videos, rather than just watching general streams--- that's a good idea!
-
I completely understand what you mean, and you're not wrong. I just have a different feeling about it, I think. I can understand why they feel like it's a punishment, though. When I've healed someone and helped finish a gen, then get downed and STILL have a chance to use DS, it even feels cheap to me and I'm the one…
-
It's hard to calculate that 60 seconds, I think. Survivors get the benefit of a timer in the HUD, but the Killer has to rely on an inner stopwatch. When someone is really busy within that minute (like OP was), it's easy to miscalculate the actual time passed, especially when you're pushing the 45 second mark, or so. Sure,…
-
I've found Kindred doesn't help me get unhooked so much as I'd hoped, but it's handy to do the unhooking and get a general sense of what the killer is doing immediately after a teammate is hooked. I don't play very well, unfortunately, so when I'm alone (without SWFing with my wife), I tend to get tunneled or mori'd out of…
-
This upcoming PTB seems like it will be more balance-oriented, which is natural given the changes we saw leading up to this. I hadn't played Survivor for a month, tried again on Saturday and got: a disconnecting Deathslinger, a tunneling wraith who killed me out at only 5k BP, a camping, iri head, ebony mori huntress, an…

I'm so sorry you're this level of frustrated. It's painful in Italy right now, and getting gen rushed and bad manners from people isn't going to help you decompress. Maybe take a break from playing, for a little while? Your assessments aren't wrong, but it takes time to fix so many issues (maps, generators, etc.) Please…
-
TL:DR: They are very frustrated with gen rushing, toxicity, & bad manners while playing Killer. TL:DR +: Toolbox nerfs did nothing; Survivors don't experience an appropriate level of fear from encountering the Killer
-
I think part of the survivors' punishment is in the miniscule amount of bloodpoints you get for rushing and leaving without performing your due diligence, at least. Some people don't care, of course, and I'm not saying it's right, fair, or what have you. I'm just guessing maybe that's part of the 'balance' rationale?
-
I had this happen when the joystick was going. It felt normal to use, and when I'd first start a session, there was nothing unusual. After I played a little while (maybe about 30 minutes?), the camera would start drifting upward and I'd fight to center & steady it. It would drift without me even touching the controller,…

I find Bloodhound useful on PS4 when I'm playing killers other than Doc. I have my TV as bright as I can get it, but those maps are brutal to track on. Of course, I knew lots of people may not want to run it, but it does help me in the corn hellrealms
-
I get so many gen grabs with bone clapper + ghost add-ons. It's about the most fun you can buy for 7k BPs. Wraith is really fun to use, though he can be easy to bully if you're not a great killer player or have crazy-good survivors (or both, RIP me)
-
Actually, it improved my Overwatch game a bit because I learned the value of stealth and looking behind me more. I got more eliminations, especially environmental kills, and became less susceptible to sneaky Reapers crawling up my bum.
-
I ended up taking DS off about a week after trying it out. The amount of times I was actually hard tunneled and needed DS were miniscule compared to the number of games where it never came into play, or came into play well after the killer moved on and it wasn't tunneling anymore. It's too broad and permissive a perk and…

My wife carries me into red ranks every reset, without fail. There are several others here who play DBD with their wives. Also, I follow several women who stream DBD---about a 60/40 split on my Twitch follows, I'd say. The game seems to attract all kinds of people from all sorts of places, it's nice
-
Tier 1 used to be immune to Spine Chill, but not since the Oblivious status effect was incorporated. Personally, if I'm a dick to other survivors, they had to be really nasty co-players; I've never been a dick to a killer. Honestly, I have 400 survivors I've blacklisted and will lobby dodge. I've never bothered to write…
-
For PS4, I've had this happen on multiple occasions before the 3.6.0 patch, but not since (yet).
-
I have Major Depressive Disorder (Moderate-to-Serious). I take medicine for it and most of the time, it works great and I have fun and don't DC no matter what happens in-game. What's the point? DBD is a great help, because when I start getting uncharacteristically irritable and DCing for something stupid I did, or for a…
-
Doc. Even before his re-work, he was my go-to. I found him easy to use and had a good feel for his abilities and strengths right away. I love his look and all his cosmetics too. He's just my dude
-
I'm not concerned with streamsniping overall and wasn't trying to start talk on the subject. I only mentioned it peripherally. No need to tag me for further discussion on it.
-
Exxodus's 'exposed' game mechanic idea above seems appealing. It could help punish careless or callous survivor teammates, then might also affect their Altruism points and possibly their rank---the game is very unforgiving of unsafe unhooks. Add in the killer's incentive to go after the unhooker for the equally easy down…
-
I thought mori spamming was an offense, though? Blows my mind how stream sniping can't be an offense, that's just blatant cheating. But I guess the idea is that the streamer is choosing to publicly stream, so streameat emptor?
-
I'm about 80/20 with the survivor side being dominant. I enjoy both, but play killer for the BP so there's no emotional attachment to how I perform.
-
I forget about Adam a lot, sadly. He's such a neat character and has fun perks too, but I just...forget. I play Ace, Quentin, and Tapp all the time, and Jeff quite a bit too, so I don't forget about them.
-
Ohhhh, I get you now! Sorry, it took me a minute to see where we were going. I think those changes would be an improvement, but I'd still be reluctant to use Vigil, even with those buffs. Because, like Milo explained, so many status effects are permanent until you change a health state, or a piggy party hat is removed, or…
-
A lot! When I lunge with Doc's big stick, I tend to lean forward. I also move left or right to duck flashlights, lol.
-
Wiggle is extremely responsive on PS4, for me. Using the joystick for wiggle can be done gently and still achieve the desired result. Also, it doesn't strain your joints and is reliable.. Pressing buttons (for me) is more prone to error and lack of recognition in-game.
-
I'm aware of this and didn't see the need to mention what Vigil already doesn't cover. It's entirely moot since those status effects aren't even on the table in the first place. Again, the reason I don't run Vigil much is because it's too limited & conditional. I only use it to help relieve tier 1 exhaustion perks, and…
-
I use Vigil occasionally, if I know my wife is running a tier one exhaustion perk. It can be handy if the killer is using add-ons that cause status effects like hemorrhage, blindness, mangled, etc., but those don't happen often enough for Vigil to be consistently useful (for me, anyway). But despite needing some help, it's…
-
I think 50 - 60 seconds can be pretty productive. I was happy with my match, and the others that were similar. I didn't feel victimized, despite the re-hook within 60 seconds, and the time I spent was solid points. In my 55ish seconds, I gave some quick heals (tiny part of a health state) and popped a gen that was 30 - 40%…
-
On Friday, I tried DS for the very first time in two years. I'm a survivor main of roughly 1,000 hours, a baby killer of maybe 20 - 30 hours. DS is terrible. Sure, it does what it's supposed to (stuns a tunneler), but its abuse potential is ridiculous. I had a Huntress who dutifully went after the David who unhooked me, so…
-
I see Killer & Survivor non-default cosmetics in an overwhelming majority of matches on PS4. Some may be prestige garments, some may be Rift, but most are from the store. I don't know if it's a difference in platform culture, maybe?
-
Deathslinger reminds me a lot of Eldred Jonas from the Dark Tower series, right down to the bad leg. He was my favorite character and I'm pretty delighted to have Deathslinger join the roster, even if his abilities are difficult to master. It'll be fun just to try something a little different, and I am so stoked for the…
-
StreamDad_ RunningMan37 FunGoose ArchdruidDrey BattleMick Goose & Drey are particularly good at explaining what they're doing & why, and will answer questions about their approach if you ask them. They are good if you're looking for a more educational aspect. RunningMan takes killer requests almost all day, a lot of the…
-
Hillbilly (it's so fun to get chased by one, even though I go down like a sack of potato every time) Huntress (also fun chases, trying to dodge hatchets, and i'm always in awe of a great throw) Plague (because I'm a 45 year old child, let's be honest, so the vomiting makes me laugh) Doc is also right up there, probably…
-
Spine Chill is wonderful, but if I run it too much, I get lazy and it becomes a crutch. I stop looking around, relying on it to warn me. Because I'm not looking, I miss where the killer is coming from and walk right into them. Granted, I'm incredibly inattentive, so other players may not run into this issue
-
It's not supposed to, I don't think. I run Kindred III a lot and have had a couple Insidious campers fool me while my attention was divided. Went into the shack to get a person out of the basement (because no Bubba aura was showing nearby), but he was right on the stairs.
-
I've actually been playing killer more, lately. I never used Ruin, so my play style hasn't been affected. Most times, I don't realize a person has BT or DS until the match is over, so it's business as usual. 2k - 4k, mostly, and that's fine. 0k is fine Playing survivor has been much less fun, with noticeable increases in…
-
I've had people bring in a mori for me just because I was Quentin---any reason is a valid reason. You bring in your ebony and have fun! Forget those guys messaging you, they're being poor sports, sending you crap after the match
-
I'm okay with it. I die there nearly every match and it's huge, but that's ok.
-
Quentin and Jeff, with Tapp a close third
-
This situation me bonkers, even as a survivor. I can't count the number of times I've been one of the last two and been sacrificed first just because I won't sit on my thumb and wait for the other person to do something. I know they won't, I mean, sometimes they surprise, but mostly not. I've spectated and watched…
-
I find it dull to play killer, so I main survivor. Also, my wife and I play together so survivor is our only option. For me, killer is a monotony of find-chase-down-hook, find-chase-down-hook, like I could waltz to it. The way I play survivor engages my thinking in a different way. I have to think about where I want to…
-
Gens go too fast right now, even without toolboxes or perks to help. My wife and I intentionally spend the first 60 seconds of a match (approximately) looking for totems now, just to allow killers time to traverse the maps, set-up, etc. because we know if we go right on two gens, it'll go too fast. Sometimes one of us is…
-
Some of the most fun interactions I've had in-game have come from everyone being slugged. One was our cult of four slugged strangers crawling in a circle around Trapper's ankles. He watched us for a little while, then started spinning in a circle too and looked like a gameshow prize. Another was just me & my wife slug…
-
I'm a Doctor main and play probably 60 - 80% of my matches with him (before re-work too), but I'm not afraid to switch it up and play the others, even if it means 0k. Shape, Legion, Plague, and Trapper are especially fun for me
-
No, of course not. I just didn't want to dismiss the OP's post out-of-hand. It seemed to me there were valid reasons for them to post about it. Have a good day & many escapes, @Johnny_XMan!
