The coin's effect doesn't have to go, I like the idea, it's just it being an ultra-rare that doesn't feel right. They are done by the entity, like everything there from it's own understanding of the world. Now I don't see them fitting the lore, I think those are just in game mechanics. At most I see survivors getting cosmetics to kinda raise their morale. You know, playing dress up just to cope with the fact they are there.

I had a fan concept for a survivor like that. He was a grave robber/Mafia kind of guy, in his story he shoots the killer when he was still human. His perks were mostly about being egoistical and leave others survivors by themselves.
