The trap becomes active when a gen i spopped. say 3 gens are left, she puts a trap on . The trap will only become active/start the countdown when the next gen is popped

Some people just like that way of playing and find being a gen jockey not fun. Also it's a strategy of getting the killers really angry so they make bad plays.
