  • If you're a hook hitter, you should expect some teabagging. It might be a fun way for you to celebrate, but you're just opening up the door for survivors to be like "but teabagging at the gate is just how I celebrate my victory, haha!"-- bad manners are bad manners regardless of what side they're on. Bullying on either…
  • The devs say a lot of things. I've also heard them say that stealth isn't supposed to be a mechanic, which seems counter intuitive if they want chases to be short and anyone to play survivor for longer than a match or two. I agree about the generator issue-- something about the mechanic of the game is fundamentally broken.…

  • I mean, I play killer, I know how easy or not they are to follow. Sometimes they're a little challenging, but mostly it's pretty straight forward in my experience. But I don't think comparing now to back in the day is very useful-- there are all kinds of perks and changes that have been made since then, so it's not even…

  • Well that is unfortunate then. I'm honestly not even pro looping. It's boring on both sides. But I think there's a lack of many other chase dynamic options to use successfully instead. Maybe it would be good if they finally fixed that then and introduced something better.
  • I mean, those aren't exploits though. Those are mechanics put in by the devs intentionally. Are they well balanced all the time? No. Are they boring at best and really unfair at worst? A lot of times, yeah. But it's not cheating. Now OTHER survivor things people mentioned above me that I was unaware existed, those suck.…
  • :) :) :). :). I'm so glad they fixed Tinkerer 2 because this is some real garbage.
  • They're not toxic, but they are rude. Also I was talking about the entire forum, not just this particular thread. I can tell you want to be right and you're going to continue to make a straw man argument by picking and choosing the pieces of what I said that fit your side, so I'm not going to continue replying. However, I…
  • Ah, fair enough. If that's the case I feel the same way about those that I do about this-- people who exploit them are scummy. If you know something is broken and game breaking, don't use it, on both sides.
  • Agree to disagree. As someone who plays killer and survivor pretty equally, juking isn't nearly as effective as some people make it out to be and can be pretty easily countered depending on the map and the killer. That can't be the only tactic survivors have.

  • This whole post is full of people telling this person off for having an opinion (and an opinion that's not entirely unfair-- go look through this forum and see how many threads are about scummy survivors versus how many killer threads are about scummy killers), which is what you say should be allowed here. I don't think…
  • You're joking, but it actually is. If there was no looping, chases would end pretty immediately most of the time. There's not very many features that encourage hiding. The red strikes are incredibly easy to follow, so if you're not running perks to make them vanish then evading a killer in chase is near impossible given…

  • Oh please. Of course there are some survivors who exploit BUGS for wins, but the number of people I ran into exploiting the tinkerer BUG for kicks and giggles was incredibly discouraging. If you're comparing that to "looping" or "gen rush" or "bringing in a flashlight" or even "SWF" (all mechanics that are put in the game…
  • That's not very hard to counter, honestly. It's definitely more fun than looping, but it would be awesome to get some more map variety or something that just adds extra challenges on both sides.
in Looping Comment by hill_o August 2018
  • Or they could just add voice chat to the game. I think it's incredibly stupid that the devs keep acting like they don't like SWF either. They put it in, they haven't done anything about it since then, and you know they know full well that there are some super busted aspects of it. But instead of just giving in and making…
  • If they remove it, they better replace it with something else. Killers are much faster than survivors, and if we're just going to slowly remove window vaults, pallets, etc. without replacing it with other things then the game is just going to turn into short chases where the killer almost always wins. There aren't enough…

  • Yeah, no, you definitely have a good point, and i think the replies to your thread pretty much show that this is less a forum for any survivor related questions and more a forum to ######### about survivors. It's incredibly frustrating as someone who would like to have actual discussions that don't just end in "well you…
  • New Tinkerer isn't bad, minus all the people who are exploiting the bug. I played against a handful of hillbillies who thought it was hilllllarrrrious to play Tinkerer 2 and then just slug everyone in the match as soon as one generator was started. Yeah that's really fun, being slugged on the ground in a minute because…
  • That's a joke but sometimes in conversations here I think some people 100% think that's true. It's a fun community. But really, it's hard to define a toxic survivor because it boils down to "what aggravates someone when they're playing against them". Tea-bagging definitely is pretty crappy and just stupid, looping is…
  • I wonder why they didn't ever change it to something like "the locker kicks you out" or something instead. That seems like it would be more fair to everyone. Honestly, I hate the crows mostly because when I'm against a killer who slugs all 4 people, I think I should at least be given the option to go hide somewhere…
  • These threads are obnoxious, because then if anyone posts a valid complaint (the new ranking system is BROKEN to all get out, for instance) it gets the same treatment as these trolly posts when someone should probably actually hear it out instead.

  • If you do find it you should share it with those of us who are left. I would also love to have one conversation with other people who play survivors that doesn't get interrupted by someone being a jag.
  • That's because even the Survivor labeled forum is just used for people to complain about survivor things they hate (which seems like something a moderator should crack down on, but whatever) which means there's literally nowhere you can post as a survivor without someone jumping down your throat. The same is honestly true…
  • Yeah, I've heard it's bugged right now. You'd think it would have been fixed with the patch today but ¯_(ツ)_/¯
  • The hit boxes are kind of weird now in my experience. I get the logic that if you're still mid-animation and someone swings for you, they should hit you, but I've had moments where I've cleared the animation and been on my way and someone has hit me from the other side of a window/pallet.
  • The match maker has issues, like other people have said. Also the ranking system is extra wonky lately, so it seems like it's pretty easy for survivors to climb out of the low level ranks which means as a new killer you probably have more competition to get matches? That would be my guess, anyway.
  • Literally all you have to do to rank up is unhook people. I've had games where I've touched maybe one generator (not even finished), but saved two people and I ranked up, almost double pipping. It's ridiculous-- altruism should be important, but right now it's HUGELY unbalanced. If I don't want to save my teammates after…
  • Poor Nea. :( You're not wrong, though.
  • I mean you can believe what you want, that's your narrative and you're welcome to it. I'm not going to judge the state of an entire game based on what the small population of people who use the forums say. You're entitled to your opinion of "the state of the game" but I'm also entitled to being tired of people claiming…

  • It's really hard to take any of your argument seriously now, honestly. I don't even disagree that some of the people who choose Claudette do it because she has darker clothes options, but your attitude is really immature. I also second the "turn up your brightness" comment and would like to point out that David, Jake, and…
  • Give me some data. I hear this all the time, but no one ever has any actual numbers to show that "most SWF is a toxic crap show" and I just don't buy it. Are some of them? Yeah. But I've played against a fair amount of SWF that were just fine and arguably played a ton worse than solo survivors because of all the altruism.…

  • I split my time 50-50 killer survivor, so yes I have tried it. However, I don't play a ton and I don't go above rank 10 (intentionally). I agree that it's stupid that some killers are much more buffed than others. I don't think the solution is 1 vs. 3. I think you're interpreting the fact that my rank doesn't bother me as…
  • You can take enduring and brutal strength? That's fine? I have no problem with killers using the perks they have, same with survivors. Also, I think we view the purpose of the game very differently, if I'm being honest. I don't think either side should have "control"-- it's just a versus online game? So you win some, you…
  • Or add character classes. Like certain perks only individual characters could have, thus adding some variety and making it so that not everyone just plays the same 4 perks (without having to just nerf things every other update).
  • Exactly! And then killers get to SWF and that would be really fun. xD
  • Then you're out of luck and that's kind of a throwaway round. I get that it's frustrating, but that's how it is on the survivor side sometimes to? Everyone slugged before two generators are done is also really aggravating, but I don't think the solution is "take away every survivor advantage", especially not if we're…
  • I mean that definitely sounds frustrating but at the same time, maybe you just have to get better? I'm not trying to 'git gud' you, because that's stupid and obnoxious, but if your strategy isn't working maybe it's time to try another strategy instead of waiting for the game to change. Lots of people reach rank 1 as a…
  • Ohhhhhhhhhhh. Thank you for that clarification! I've never used a mori as a killer so I'm still not good with the lingo, haha.
  • If you're chasing someone for 2 minutes, you probably need to stop chasing them and go and find someone else/patrol generators.
  • I think if you're nerfing DS (which I'm not against) then you can't also buff moris that much-- it seems pretty unbalanced.
  • This is the only solution to SWF I actually care for at all, and I appreciate that instead of just complaining and trying to buff killers into the stratosphere you have a fun way for killers to get to SWF too. I think that's wonderful.
  • I think the goal with Meg is to give her as many bizarre and unappealing hairstyles as possible. That's all I can guess from the new ones.
  • I actually like the idea of a hardcore mode, haha. That'd be fun. On that note, why not a mode where you can only use the perks associated with your character? That ups the challenge a lot imo.
  • Yeah, see, I think that having casual matches open up a lot of opportunities for people to experiment some and mix the matches up a little, thus adding the 'horror' aspect back in-- or at least making for a few good scares.
  • That's good to know, thank you!
  • Yes so much. I'm always blown away when I get into a post-game chat with someone who loses their stinking mind because "I threw the whole match!!!" by not playing the way they thought -I- should have played. Like well, you died and I lived, and you chose to rush the killer and the hooks when people were thrown on them, and…
  • Exactly!! Ah, that's what bothers me the most about these kinds of changes, honestly. They're clearly made from listening to the most competitive player base which negates, I'm assuming, the larger percentage of people playing. There are, contrary to how the community makes it seem sometimes, a LOT of casual players that…
  • Agreed. Everybody thinks they deserve to win 100% of the time (4K or 4 escapes) so the game developers continue to tinker around with perks instead of adjusting any of the real issues: the ranking system, the matching system, how easy it is to cheat in-game, etc, or updating the game for console. It's pretty irritating.
  • Meg is my favorite. <3 I like the perks she gets and she was the character I learned with.
