Not sure but Blight used to fall into my Gluttony filter. Yeah considering his backstories maybe Pride be more like it.
-
The Twins obviously had been designed with the mother-and-child concept. The devs just deny that & make their backstory that way to avoid the ethic controversy blah.
-
Wasn't Benedict from 1956 or so Anyways, he's been introduced so long ago he almost seemed like a scrapped and forgotten character now
-
Well I had been following the events since 2018. I had a few ideas when he first came out as a killer and made this post: Still, I agree all his logs are mainly his life of trauma and illusions experienced over and over again. Pretty much a character living up to one design concept.
-
Maybe Hag is Wraith's best friend. Wraith will only reveal his traumatized past to his most intimate friend. That's why you have to play as Lisa to get it. L-O-L.
-
I think this somehow depends on the Japanese commuity's enthusiasm
-
Yes, that's possible, since we see more and more Vigo branded items coming in game (maps, keys, blueprints etc). Lore wise these should be the stolen and tweaked copy of the original piece created by Vigo. Whether he liked it or not Vigo had become the Fog's game mechanic designer, haha. Still, I doubt if the Entity…
-
I've watched the dev stream before the Hallowed Blight event in 2018 and I believe they didn't say that. It's okay though, Dave recently confirmed on Twitter that the protagonist of Hallowed Blight is the Blight (Talbot).
-
"the official lore of the site"... if you are referring to the "official" dbd wiki, NAH. That site is not at all official and what it claims to be legit information can be awfully outdated or out of pure speculation. Even today the wiki page saying Benedict was the author of the Hallowed Blight journals is still there, not…
-
Welcome to the Fog Talbot. btw 2020 in the Chinese lunar calendar is the year of the Rats. A total of 180 years have passed since 1840, when the first Opium War began. 1840 was also the year of the Rats. Makes me wonder if all of this is coincidence or the devs planned much of this ahead. Amazing.
-
I found this old post. Nice to see that devs continued with the Blight's concept, although I'm a bit confused by the way they design the new killer's mechanics. Looking forward to September 7th.
-
DBD Chapter 17 in your face, man. LOL
-
Something about the Multiverse working here. Not really, lore-wise there's never doppelgangers or triplets in the Fog unless they were born twins and triplets, blah blah. Allowing same characters in one lobby is all because it's just a game and people should all be able to play with their favorite character any time.…
-
Maybe in future cosmetics they can make it into a dismantled hook or something :/
-
atm I can only think of his time in the monastery, when he was healing from the severe injuries and might have relied on a cane to move around.
-
By the time he was attacked and thrown into the pit, I believe he had rarely had any actual face-to-face contact with the workers and was thus unaware of the casualties. However during his time in the mystery school studying the Soul Chemical, which is likely melatonin extracted from human brains, his research could have…
-
Thank you for your kind reply! I've been rethinking a lot today. It's actually way more amazing than offensive, that the devs opt to write about invasion and chemical weapons, and the utter suffering brought to people. Many people or companies won't have the nerves to do this. Well, to be honest I will probably not…
-
One more thing, mustard gas burns severely damage skin and may cause bright yellow blisters to form. Visually resemble what the blight pustules look like in game.
-
The Entity has its whispers and can meddle with people's minds, corrupting their sanity, like it did with Rin's dad. Maybe Kate was as sensitive as talented and noticed this, or the Entity was deliberately getting to her. Kate is very mentally powerful according to her bio and Benedict's description. Make me wonder if…
-
Personally I agree with your opinion that Alchemist is not Benedict, but a new character brought into dbd lore in 2018. He doesn't get enough love partially due to the devs deliberately making the lore ambiguous and confusing. I really hope someday devs confirm or deny this??
-
like Mikeadatrix said, before Yui and Yamaoka were put in game, if the devs wanted to release their Asian aesthetic to attract more buyers, they got a pretty limited character pool to choose from. Feng Min is obviously a Chinese name, if I get it right, Japanese names never possess Velar Nasal sound such as "-eng" "-ang"…
-
He was bitten by a dog in the leg and needed support for walking afterwards... and that's why he got the Dead "Dog" map. (?) 🙄
-
As a Chinese I believe her natural hair is black. You can see her newly grown hair roots of a darker color. Hair dye is an important part of the younger generation's fashion and I think it's used to represent Yui's rebellious, independent personality
-
Um... such sincere response to a funny meme, I guess?
-
Not "everyone" is sure about that. I think the Alchemist, the Observer, Ben Baker and Vigo are all different individuals, but more from a aesthetic perspective. It's just that the devs are currently indulging in their ambiguous way of writing, leaving no real evidence that firmly proves so or the opposite. And some people…
-
I thought that, instead of hinting a future playable killer/survivor, the Revelation logs are rather building up the Observer's character by revealing his remorse toward his own curiosity and foolishness. He and his family studied the Entity and firmly believed its kind could be destroyed, but in the end he's trapped in…
-
Only thing bothering me is that Demi is a licensed killer and most licensed DLCs cannot be viewed as too dbd canon... Also no need to feel sorry at all. I assume that's because I was editting the post at the same time and caused a bug to occur.
-
I can totally agree since non-humans (like the Alien) or their bizarre maps were said by the Devs to not be able to exist alongside humans in the Entity's realm, as the understanding of the surrounding and of others is necessary for the Trials to work. Yet with Demogorgon's recent appearance I'm pretty open to more…
-
maybe the whereabouts of Ben Baker... I really liked that guy.
-
BBQ & Chili?
-
I believe the Obsession in dbd exists for similar reason, to vaguely resemble the "cursed survivor" or "final girl" plot in the horror genre. The killer may treat them a bit differently, forcing them to the brink of death then letting them go, playing with them (PWYF). But killers are tortured killing machines and I don't…
-
He's dat no-name guy from Hallowed Blight, I think Also when did devs mentioned that about Vigo? Yeah they said some hopeless survivors may be tossed into the void and that's all I remember
-
The current rating system cannot precisely measure everyone's contribution to the team and that's all. Hiding or playing immerse isn't being coward you know. Sometimes one get really good at sneaking around the killer distracting them, which wastes the killer's time and buying gen time for teammates.
-
the Alchemist is neither Vigo nor Benedict... I guess it's just a bit too hard to accept this?
-
Sure. I got soooo tired of the people editting the Wikis thinking they're doing something important yet failing to notice even the simplest facts or treating their own speculations as canon. Hard to tell how much lengths they will go to to maintain the "Benedict was the Hallowed Blight researcher, Vigo is the Alchemist"…
-
Sure. Till now Vigo is like the most possible one survivor that escaped. Cutting off that hope sounds like a dumb move.
-
I guess it's up to the devs to whether push this concept further. Still I don't get why many people seem to confuse him with Vigo. To me they're both researchers but definitely not the same person
-
The name theory doesn't make much sense as it's one of the most common boy names and intended to be companied with good will (the word root bene- ) however... food. yes. Eggs Benedict. Also Vigo's Jar of Marinated Mushrooms
-
He might have turned into a killer but I highly doubt if he would be made the next playable one.
-
What about Kate? She saw the Entity presence and literally tried fighting back.
-
I used to believe the Hood was Vigo too. Because he wasn't showing much agony or sign of mental breakdown etc. However consider this: a) "The Alchemist" is used in official content to solely describe the Hallowed Blight protagnist, right? (while for Vigo they rather used "inventor and researcher") b) Each of the unlockable…
-
If you say so. I used to believe the Figure was Vigo too, actually, since he didn't seem to be showing any signs of agony or mental disorder, which was troubling the Hallowed Blight protagonist (the Alchemist). Maybe last year devs felt unsure about where the Lore should go or this would even be a thing, so they were not…
-
ah aww... I forgot to mention that I sneak peeked at the films thats in the game files once the update came out. Unlocking all 5 entries of "the Hunger" will grant access to a piece of animation about what happened to the Hooded Figure after he left the lab. So... Well... I'm like 89% sure. Just wait and see.
-
SPOILER ALERT Sorry but you were both wrong lol. I unlocked two of The Alchemist's Memories in the Archives (The Hunger). The hooded figure is the Alchemist & The Hallowed Blight Protagonist who found Vigo's Journal. That guy's lost all hope and in the Void now... Still, he could be wearing Vigo's old clothes.
-
Yes. Otherwise they won't have the original 1000 AC returned to you as you unlock through all 70 tiers.
-
They made amazing animations as rewards of the Archive progress. Found in the game files. Don't know if it's allowed to talk about it here right now...
-
Cool new animatics hidden in files waiting to be unlocked.
-
Maybe the survivors should have worked harder fixing gens if the gates are close, rather than leaving each other to die and getting themselves into this dead end. If one holds a key already why not just open the hatch and escape? Should be pretty easy, minding a bit where the killer has been. I'm survivor main but I don't…
-
Don't think that would make sense. Hex perks are op, and survivors already have to spend quite a while to take a totem down once they find it. btw not ALL hex totems are gonna wreck the killer when being taken down, like Haunted Grounds.
-
Maybe we'll learn more through the event this year about how Vigo harnessed the power of the Entity. Or as a survivor, just loop and use pallets and flashlights to make the world a living hell for baby killer Trapper, gg
