I guess it's fair to assume that just the opposite can happen. In my matches I've been getting a lot of killers that have been tunneling because they know it's all but a guarantee that survivors aren't going to have dead hard, off the record, etc. It's just my luck tonight I guess.
-
Yeah, the thing I find so frustrating with Myers is that I've had plenty of games where I can't stalk survivors anymore, meaning that I'm just a regular m1 killer. Not having a power was ridiculous. If his add-ons need to be changed in order to rectify this, then that's fine, but he is long overdue for a rework and I'm…
-
As killer, it's nice having everyone on the same playing field. No perks makes for a more interesting match, but as survivor it's miserable. So long as the killer isn't a try hard, then it's not too bad. But I had two matches back to back that had a Bubba camp the hook, and a Trapper place traps around the hook while again…
-
I was definitely happy to hear that he is being considered for a rework, but when it was revealed that he wasn't listed within the upcoming road map, it definitely was sad to see. At this rate he might be late into the year at the earliest.
-
I realize I'm probably the outlier here, but I like their spin on hide and seek. Not only does that mode perfectly reflect a horror movie, but the fact that if you're found you immediately get killed/Mori would be a great incentive to avoid the killer at all cost. Perhaps in this mode survivors could use perks like the…

I feel the same. It's no secret that gamers don't like losing, regardless of the role you choose to play. That being said, playing killer against a sweat squad that are all on comms is a nightmare, especially if you're playing with a killer you've never played with before. The amount of micromanaging is through the roof,…
-
When bots were finally introduced into the main game, I cheered because trying to practice with a killer that you've never played before in a sweaty online match was the worst. However, as you've attested to, it's really difficult to do this with certain killers and certain builds that revolve around stealth. The biggest…
-
After playing more matches, I've concluded that it's nearly impossible to sneak up on bots. Equipping perks like tinkerer are absolutely useless, but more crucially a lot of powers that belong to killers like Chucky and Ghostface that hide your terror radius are made useless due to the bot's wall hacks and constant…
-
If it's true that the bots are allowed to have wall hacks, then that doesn't really allow you to practice efficiently with a lot of killers. What good are custom matches with bots if they can negate every power and perk that hides your terror radius? But sadly you're probably right.
-
My play style is causing people to not want to play with me? What on earth are you talking about? I was practicing with bods in custom matches. I have yet to step foot in a live match with Chucky.
-
Considering that he was implemented years ago though, having him play the way he did was quite refreshing at the time. Now it is comforting to hear that he has another rework in the pipeline, but as we all know he's not the only one that needs to be brought up to speed with where DBD is in 2023.
-
Honestly, I have to agree. These days I watch far more videos of games than I do participating in them. The other day I wanted to play a survivor game, and we encountered a Bubba who proceeded to slug everyone. He pick you up to think he was going to hook you, only to put you back down again. It was the most miserable four…
-
I think you misinterpreted what I was saying. I was saying the reason why people want Freddy's old play style back is because of how different he was to every other killer. Never mind if it was considered strong or weak, the very fact that it was different from everyone else is what made it special. So many killers these…

Yeah, there are so many things about the alien that are iconic that I'm legitimately intrigued on how it's going to be implemented in the game. The Alien is known for traversing walls and ceilings, fast movement, acid spit, etc, that I'm worried the Alien will either be overpowered or ridiculously weak. Traversing walls…
-
Yeah people will find reasons to complain about anything, but after 7 years of playing DBD's one and only game mode, it's like, what do they expect?
-
Exactly! I think that's one of the reasons why everyone decries for old Freddy again. He played in a way unlike any other killer, but instead of adjusting what was there they made him more in line of what is to be expected from every other killer.
-
I tried practicing with him against the bots, and it was insanely hard to do as they are always aware when you're looking at them through a pod. But what made it insanely frustrating was that when I finally did manage to get a pod attached to them, they would immediately cleanse it because they could just easily run by an…

A lot of my survivor games are played solo, and generally I like to be a medic for the team so I'll equip strong healing perks that stack on top of each other. I realize I may not be getting a lot done outside of healing, but again I'm looking for something new to do. Sitting on a generator for minutes at a time isn't…
-
That caboose game would have cracked me up! So often I see more and more gamers making their own fun in the game, which I think is proof that gamers are itching for something new. There are countless examples too of fun modes that the devs could use to incentivize spicier gameplay. One mode I've played with friends in…
-
With my peekaboo Myers, sometimes I might have one or two kills, but usually if I've managed to down everyone right at the end, I'll bring everyone to the gate for a slug race. LOL
-
I would argue that being smart about where you hook survivors is impossible to do. Killers go where survivors go, which means killers are at the mercy of hooking wherever a survivor is downed, and if there are no hooks in the area, then completing your objective becomes impossible to do.
-
The sad truth is that while DBD should be viewed as a party game, it's sadly treated far more competitively than it has any right to be (we have freaking Nicholas Cage in the game for crying out loud! LOL). But solo queue is the worst. If you're not playing with other people on mics, then you're at the mercy of a random…
-
As many others have said, this problem will be solved by the bots being implemented next week, but I think this paints an overall picture of just how much the emblem system is no longer warranted in DBD. The emblems used to adhere to your overall ranking, and since those emblems don't play a part in SBMM, I personally feel…
-
This is true. It is more difficult on console with some killers that require precise movements and aiming: trickster, huntress, Oni, etc, which does require more practice. Unfortunately, not a lot of people are willing to put in the time sink to get better, which is understandable when the bar is set high and you want to…
-
The reason why a player disconnects is usually because there's something about the match they didn't like, and while I will acknowledge some valid reasons to disconnect, those valid reasons are very few and far between. The bots are there for no other reason than to help lessen the sting from leaving the team high and dry.…
-
I love how this thread has gone from "Give me your hot take", to "Let me crap on your hot take". 🫤
-
BHVR has already stated that killer bots will be coming into custom matches at some point, and it wouldn't surprise me if they too eventually take over for a disconnecting killer player.
-
I concur with others in that breakable walls have never seemed to be anything more than a Band-Aid fix. Instead of reworking a map to adequately benefit both sides, we instead have these structures that either need to be broken, or they need to be left alone. To me that just comes off as lazy, which I hate saying because I…
-
Bloodhound is one of the most underrated perks in the whole game. A bright red trail that leads you straight to a survivor's location is better than any other tracking perk in the game.THERE, I SAID IT! LOL
-
I personally don't understand why the EMP crates are designed to open on their own. No other crate in the game works like that, and the fact that survivors can just keep running past them and grabbing them makes playing the Singularity a pain.
-
The other day I had a Sadako match that lasted 30min because she wanted to do the Mori challenge. It was absolutely abysmal. If survivors haven't been hooked after being downed more than once, then the game should really give you an option to leave the match without being penalized.
-
Hey GeneralV, hope you've been well. I've been out the game for a while. Like you, I will always love Freddy. God how I wish for a Englund skin. It is nice to hear that he's getting a rework. What would you like to see?
-
To each their own, but I couldn't disagree more. Every match sees survivors spawning on top of generators, which means that killers have to be quick at getting the ball rolling. The last thing any killer needs is to start the game off with reduced speed and a reduced lunge attack. Worse, Myers is the only killer that can…
-
Which is exactly why they can be so difficult to obtain. You could end up having a great match, but if you didn't do enough of the one thing the emblem is tied to, then your score will suffer as a result, which is just dumb. Like I said, I don't understand why they're still there.
-
The last two nights I've played a total of eight survivor games and didn't even make it to the end. I've been trying to acquire masks as survivor because I enjoy playing survivor more, but for some reason the devs just love seeing to it that survivors have a far more difficult time earning event items than killers. Also…
-
In a lot of my killer matches, it's not uncommon for 1-2 gens to be done before I've even gotten my first hook. Smart survivors will apply pressure by splitting up on gens, whereas smart killers will focus on the one survivor that is closer to being removed from the game. A survivor's priority are the gens, and a killer's…
-
Yes, there's always a chance that we could play poorly, but I'd argue that most of the time it's not because you played poorly, it's just that the team was far more efficient and skilled than you were. Playing killer is no joke, as a single mistake can cost you the entire match. A lot of the time it's not fun, but at the…
-
When the devs clarified on what qualifies as a win, I think, only helped drive people's overall negativity with the game. Telling killers that the only way you win is through kills was completely the wrong way to go about it. The game should be balanced around hooks, but because they were told kills, that's what leads to…
-
I took a break for the longest time before hopping back in for the anniversary event. What I find funny is that I watch a lot of DBD on YouTube, which can be entertaining when you're watching people that have dedicated thousands of hours to the game, but for casual players like me, when I hopped back into the game I was…
-
I think what drives a lot of our fascination with DBD is that this game houses a lot of our favorite killers which naturally drives our interest to play the game, and seeing popular streamers upload fun matches also fans those flames. The thing we fail to realize though, is that a lot of the time it takes said streamers…
-
Except that you can't earn BP, XP, or event items. That's why it would be nice to have a separate mode that allows you to acquire at least BP and XP.
-
I stopped playing this game for a long time, and only recently did I come back to partake in the event. Now it's fair to say I'm a casual player of DBD, but you learn real quick that this game is not for casual players. I've been trying to earn masks as survivor, and have had an absolutely abysmal time doing it. Whereas if…
-
Honestly, I love being the default healer of the group. Being able to quickly heal my teammates is something that puts a smile on my face. But unless I'm playing with friends, solo queue makes that build frustratingly difficult. I guess I have no choice but to be more greedy.
-
No lie, I've been thinking about loading up killer games and just grabbing a scroll and going either AFK or farming. If that's literally all that BHVR requires from the killer, then so be it. Like you, I tend to not camp or tunnel, but you definitely feel the sweat when you don't. I'm a casual player too, and Dead by…
-
Decided to give it one more try, and the very next match we had a teammate DC and the killer showed no mercy at all, and killed us at five gens. It's like, what was the point of even bringing a cake?
-
Yes. You can create four custom loadouts and have one each attached to a separate bot. That being said, sometimes having to manually select everything can be very tedious, which is why I wish there was a randomizer function for equipping perks and items for the bots.
-
True, but the fact that survivors can just hold on to an EMP forever with their item and use it whenever they need it, has made playing with him really difficult against good teams. The fact that they can use an EMP mid chase, and be altruistic with their teammates makes playing as him frustratingly difficult.
-
The fact that he can run out of power is what drives me nuts about him. He's the only killer that is set up that way too. I played a match yesterday where I had managed to fully stalk Nancy, and every time I encountered her there was nothing I could do because I had no power left to use on her. That alone is ridiculous and…
-
I was trying to practice with him against the bots, but that proved to be impossible since the bots were always aware of when you're looking through a pod. That being said, with BHVR now letting you carry secondary items as survivor without having to sacrifice your main item, has made playing the Singularity far more…
-
With the game now having skill-based matchmaking, the emblems no longer apply to how you're ranked with other players, which means it's an outdated mechanic that needs to be done away with. It doesn't help either that some emblems are just a pain in the ass to get. It's why the community challenge for the event still…
