Or you can save yourself the stress by playing Alan Wake instead of a facsimile of it.
-
Another Freddy rework? XD I keep searching for reasons to start playing again and they're never going to materialize.
-
If there's only two left, the killer has no choice. Any more than that and they're pissing in the wind. Camping for one kill at any point in the match is like scoring a touchdown with no time on the clock when you're losing 42-0. Now it's 42-7. Good for you :)
-
This should be expected with this game now. BHVR is going to continue to alter killers, sometimes the same one multiple times, trying to make everyone happy. There's virtually zero competition in this genre so they can keep doing it with smiles on their faces and "golly gee whiz thank you community!" posts. Way too many…
-
"While whole community crying about tunneling" I don't see a reason to continue reading. This is a bad faith post and OP knows it.
-
Why are players doing this crap? If you have to question if it's a toxic and stupid thing to do, that means you shouldn't do it. It shouldn't be too much to ask of people to just play the game.
-
You don't need people like that. You're better off playing your best, taking the L, and moving on.
-
If I run across the map to rescue someone and if they wait to unhook themselves, I'll leave. Successful or otherwise. You're talking some nonsense about "own chance of survival" without recognizing how stupid it is to do that. Because it's fun? No, it's selfish and utilizing poor tactics. Now you've wasted more time that…
-
That's really interesting. I'm sure that has something to do with it. Some characters are going to be universally used because gamers feel entitled to win and have a lust for it. However, I would like to see a breakdown of characters used in different regions.
-
It's not going to happen. Not because it's something that should be fixed, but because it's in the list of arbitrary rules BHVR made up about their poor gameplay design and the usual sycophants will chime in and call it a "legitimate strategy". Good killers win by attrition. Lazy killers try to "win" using the shopping…
-
Strategically tunnel? XD That's a very diplomatic way of saying lazy. Tunneling not being a reason to ban someone doesn't mean as much as you want it to. It simply means it's not against BHVR's arbitrary set of rules.
-
It's not impossible. Like most developers, they send that responsibility out to a third party. There's YouTube videos of people showing off their cheating. A lot of killer bots, aim assist, wall hacks, and they don't ban the account. BHVR barely lifts a finger for blatant racism and anti-LGBT VIDEOS UPLOADED AND READILY…
-
This is exactly why the meter needs to stay or DS and OTR need to remain in the endgame. If 4 survivors are still alive when the generators are completed, it was a tough match. It happens to everyone. Getting one kill during the endgame is like scoring a touchdown with no time left on the clock when the score is 28-0. Now…
-
This is the only valid answer to tunneling and camping of any kind. If some chucklehead wants to wander around the hook, chase immediately after being unhooked, and continue to lose points, that's their prerogative. If people are going to be lazy in their playstyle, it should never be rewarded.
-
The only change Decisive Strike needed was making it work before you were hooked. The "dribbling" was awful for all involved, including the killer. Anyway, it needs to go back to 5 seconds and it needs to either work during the endgame OR remove the "conspicuous" action and keep the endgame disabling intact.
-
They should stop nerfing, buffing, reworking, and releasing everything for at least 6 months and let the game breathe. There's no way to tell if anything is actually working as intended when there's a new chapter every quarter and PTB every 3 weeks.
-
Why do so many people want so many changes? It's especially egregious when it's things that have been changed several times.
-
You can very clearly tell when a someone just wants out. Let them. I wish stats were available for the game from release until 2020 to see how many disconnects there were per every 10 games. So many aspects of the game became such a chore that I found myself wanting to quite playing both roles so I stopped playing entirely.
-
You're asking them to gather empirical data over a lengthy period of time, measuring it against match statistics and using it to decide what, if any, changes are needed. That's absolutely the right thing to do and it'll never happen.
-
I LOVED the pre-rework Freddy. I also loved release week Freddy. That was when you could string together putting survivors to sleep and it was only 5 seconds I believe. He lasted all of one week before the very loud minority became too much to ignore. Anyway, I had so much fun sneaking around. Survivors couldn't see him…
-
Another strength of F13 was picking the killer from the pool of players in the lobby. Everyone has to be on their toes. It removes the ability to coordinate and plan ahead which defeats the entire premise and purpose of the game. It's also not perfect because if you're in their with friends it lead to problems but there…
-
Whomever is in charge of the decisions to change killers.
-
What other multiplayer games keep the identity of any player a secret until after it's over? That's not rhetorical. Of the games I play, this was the only one that does that. We don't need to see what killer is going to be used, but we definitely need to see the username at a minimum.
-
With respect, does any of this current feedback matter? There's no shortage of precedents dictating that some or all aspect of this character will be changed at some point anyway.
-
It's a good idea but it'll never happen. It can't be overstated that SWF was, is, and will always be the biggest problem in the game. I don't understand why there aren't separate modes for 2-4 teams. I can't believe they allow 3 to join with one random. So many matches playing as killer or a solo I've seen a team of 3 play…
-
"Something something vALiD sTrATegEeeeE"...Hint: it's not and exactly because of what you said.
-
I agree with everything you said. There's just one problem: SWF. The root of every problem with any perk, add on, killer power, or map had been because of a SWF group abusing it. BHVR has no choice but to try and caudle players who only use killer and punish survivors who only or mostly play solo. I haven't played in…
-
Nothing they do is going to work until they implement a point deduction for every 1-5 seconds spent inside 16m and not in a chase or using insidious. With kindred, you can see when some goober stands still before they fade. Even if you don't have it, when it's been nearly a minute and no one else is in a chase, if should…
-
The biggest flaws in the game design are the hooks and slugging. There's a point where you're 100% reliant on someone else going out of their way to allow you to continue to play. It's so disappointing that F13 and Evil Dead are gone because you're at least in control of your own destiny most, if not all, the entirety of…
-
Tunneling is not a "strategy". It's a lazy technique use by players very weak in chases, hunting, anticipation, patrolling, and well, everything that makes a good killer.
-
Sure, but with actual consequences like losing points for every 1-5 seconds spent inside of it. Losing the regen of a special power, something, ANYTHING.
-
Proximity camping should be next. It should be the 16m radius of Kindred. Laziness should never be rewarded or regarded as a "valid strategy".
-
This is exactly right. OP is trying to use the guise of forum discussion to hope to continue to coast.
-
No, it's not. If the amount of unnecessary changes hadn't been made like they have at this point, you'd be correct. However, in this instance, you're not. It's begging the developers to change something to make it easier for you to win. That's not inviting a discussion.
-
It never ends. Distortion? XD This community, and it doesn't matter if you only play one role or both, basically wants a button to press that instantly wins the match for them. Entitlement is a problem for all online multiplayers but this one is especially worse because the developers yield to nearly every demand no matter…
-
What an unmitigated disaster all of this is. No other online multiplayer goes through these types of changes with this level of frequency. It's sad to see because I really loved this game.
-
Incorrect. Also, who is "we"? The complainers that are never happy? The year one players that have left?
-
This is all they do anymore. Changes for the sake of changes. Devs spend entirely too much time listening to the wrong people. They never let anything breathe. *New perk released* "IT'S TOO OP CHANGE IT" Then they do and they either 5 other things break and have to be killswitched, or the butterfly effect is in play and…
-
I haven't played since Halloween and before that it was September. Not only because of what is mentioned in this post, but the already horrid community with awful sportsmanship. Change after change after change after change on perks, maps, offerings, add ons, everything. The game is a shell of what it used to be but it's…
-
I love that for some lesser players, "solo q" is the boogeyman they blame for their equally poor tactical decision making.
-
Sorry, OP. This isn't an unreasonable take but leave it to internet dwellers to be snarky. My problem with this perk is it requires nothing skillful to activate it. You just...open a locker? It should require someone being hooked first and after the cooldown, hook again. I've watched killers not put effort into hunting…
-
Seeing all of this debating makes me REALLY miss not only the old ranking system, but seeing the season rank above each survivor. It didn't prevent lobby dodging entirely, but it made some SWF groups think twice about being red ranks and bringing their rank 20 friend in to either draw a lower ranked killer or have them be…
-
The brown point offerings especially. I don't really like any point offerings that aren't streamers, cakes, or envelopes. On one survivor I have hundreds of each brown point offering that will never be used. There really should be a selling option for the bloodweb.
-
The late George Carlin said, "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.' It's applicable here because I've been griefed in a match by people assuming something based on their own bad habits and instead of, you know, doing generators, they think it's more important to stand…
-
No, I didn't agree that it isn't debatable. You clearly stopped reading after I agreed that I also think Freddy is the worst. If you kept reading or if you comprehended it, you would've seen that I understand the debate for other killers. Stop huffing your own brand.
-
I still don't see the point in grinding to p100. If you happen to get there because you're using your favorite character, that's super duper terrific for all involved. It should be hidden because saying you play 8 hours per day isn't a flex to begin with.
-
Here we go again. It's not the perks themselves, it's SWF. Always has been and always will be. Until it's either completely removed from the game, (which is unrealistic), or they start putting some heavy restrictions on it, the tap dancing BHVR will do to try to appease everyone will continue.
-
Some people really love the smell of their own farts. It IS debatable. While I do agree that I think Freddy is the worst, I see a few cases for Nemesis and Pinhead and if Freddy wasn't in the game, I'd absolutely pick Pinhead. Nothing he does is accurate to his lore either.
-
Frankly, the p100 isn't an indication of anything except someone plays with the same character A LOT. My anecdotal experience has shown that it's not always a good indication of skill. In fact, when I see two p100 in a lobby, they usually end up throwing the game to save each other. However, it should be hidden because…
-
It's not strange. Your carrying the torch for a killer while having the killer featured. You're definitely arguing in bad faith. Give me a break XD
