It works! I done it March. Make sure you have a BHVR account, connect it to your Epic account. Then after buying on Steam start the game, then merge Steam account and voilà. I get everything. Tome, dailies, currencies.

OK, yesterday was a sale for DBD on Steam. Bought it and did the necessary things and voila! Everything carried over, I lost nothing. Not even daily rituals or Tome progress or loadouts. I just post this, if somebody runs to similar issue.
