Awesome work, appreciated as always!

Looks like there are ways around equipping killswitched items, unless this offering had been equipped pre-killswitch (in which case, that's something the devs need to work around and check for on match load)
-
Not even remotely a "bug". If they're making each map's main generator (central or thematic, e.g., The Game's bathroom gen) as the guaranteed tangled gen, then it's a simple design decision to make going for that more exciting/risky. No killer is going to go, hurr durr I'm just gonna camp this one here gen, because they'll…

The important thing to understand is that it's a For Honor event, not an event for both games (which is what everyone assumed from calling it a crossover). We just get a charm as a thanks.

I've played a couple games against new Spirit — she's definitely much easier to predict and juke now that we can gauge where she really is. Still seems very strong (4K'd both matches), but much fairer. Kicking up dust seems unnecessary. I play on awful tiny PC speakers and could still easily ascertain her location every…

If I'm survivor, I'll rarely check them out as I'm probably busy doing challenges and stuff. As killer, I'll load up their stream after the match has finished, but 99% of the time they weren't even streaming and haven't for months/ever. (Why add the TTV then???)
-
Huge nerf, to an already poor perk. "Slow down totem boon/cleansing a little teehee" is definitely not worthy of a hex perk. Increase the slowdown and make it a regular perk.
-
Using a third-party anti-cheat such as EAC made sense back when the game was peer-to-peer, but now that it runs on BHVR's own dedicated servers, relying solely on such easily bypassed software is an awful idea. Barebones server-side checks, such as monitoring player velocity and health states, should be mandatory. If a…

Cote admitted in a recent interview that the Pinhead voicelines we had on the PTB weren't final recordings, so it's possible that they wanted Doug to do the final voice lines and they simply hadn't been scheduled yet: https://youtu.be/mGzXiWbviYg?t=733
-
BHVR made the model, as they do all characters, licensed or not: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/aYn1JX As a DBD content creator who is very familiar with the game's character models, I've noticed that the final geometry/meshes consistently have misplaced verts, but only by tiny degrees so that in typical situations…

Or, take a leaf out of Call of Duty's book — each time you prestige you pick one perk that carries over.
-
I haven't tried the challenge out myself yet, but the way the co-op gen challenges work is a little funky, and I remember seeing people confused about the earlier tiers of Engineer's Guild challenges. The bar won't accumulate in fractions, it'll just go up per completed gen. And remember, if you and one other person do an…

Same just happened to me. Perfect match, 8000 in all four categories, 12 hooks 4 kills. Merciless killer. No achievement. If it helps: Map was Suffocation Pit, I was on Steam, all 4 survivors were cross-play (globes), I brought a Macmillan map offering, and used Greasy Black Lens and Iridescent Lament Configuration as…

What would be cool is if the prestige applied to all of his chains (from chain hunts and portal power). Bloody chains attacking from all sides.
-
The wiki is pretty good, it has most of the game's info and is typically up to date. dbd.gg has everything pulled from game files so it has extra info, but it's not live to the general public until the last couple features are finished. What info are you looking for, exactly?
-
The PTB has a few internal level filenames matching the RPD which means they may be testing different variations of the map. We might end up with multiple RPD versions, like Badham Preschool.
-
Corrupt and Ruin is a wonky combination, I get that you're trying to protect the early game but Corrupt blocking gens means survivors wander around and are much more likely to find your Ruin totem. Don't run them together. As a Nemmy main I tend to run Ruin, Surge, BBQ, STBFL. Surge is a nice back-up for Ruin (anti-totem…

Licensing isn't a case of Behavior picking a horror icon they like, throwing some money at the license owner and adding it to their game. There are a bunch of different factors — would X icon be a good fit for the game, are they realistically doable (e.g., Chucky and Alien are unlikely to work because of technical reasons)…

Crooked was his internal name used during prototyping and development of his character (the Hag was the Witch, Huntress was the Bear, Trapper was Chuckles). He was never called the Crooked in the live game.
-
Permanent solo-queuer here. So far during this test as survivor I've been matched against pretty iffy fellow survivors (crouching away during any terror radius, risky saves without BT) and against very inexperienced killers (few low-level perks, face-camping tunnellers, easy to lose in chase). I could very well be more of…
-
As a content creator, I love the MMR tests and can't wait for them to be permanent. Makes it much easier to learn and practice killers I don't normally play, and the survivor matches are much more interesting.
-
It does count as both a stun and a blind. If you're doing a challenge that requires either of those, a successful Blast Mine will count as 2 towards the progress. Confirmed it myself.
-
Video content creators should be allowed to be Fog Whisperers too, not just streamers. 😈
-
There's definitely no movies about any DBD original characters (yet), but I would offer Funny Games (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808279/) as a kinda similar vibe to them. Messed-up teens.
-
Not sure if joke post or if the OP simply has never played killer (very likely), given that the info is so desperately, horrifically wrong. Or the OP is from an alternate timeline where the Spirit is completely different. Or from the future, after Spirit has been reworked into some god-awful token-cooldown system. Simply…

In regular matches, outside of some incredibly niche build, Furtive Chase is worthless. Obsession builds aren't really viable at the moment, unless perks like Dying Light get a solid rework or QOL change. With the "hook the obsession X times" challenges though, the perk shines. Ignore everybody but the obsession, hook them…

BHVR's design policy is to slow down killers who rely on ranged attacks, to balance them out (a fast ranged killer would almost always be better than a fast melee one) and to encourage players to learn and use their ranged kit.
-
It'd be easy to implement as the game internally categorizes perks anyway — Sprint Burst is a Navigation perk, Bond is a Perception perk, etc. I know dbd.gg will show those categories. Any kind of streamlining at this point would be great. There's just so much for newer players to work on and unlock.
-
I like the art style. Do commissions/have folio?
-
Yeah, I think they're both partially at fault here. As killer I almost always give the last person the hatch, and it can be frustrating watching that person hide forever, or painfully slowly walk around the entire map while watching me stand still in one position — I'm standing by the hatch smacking the nearest object and…
-
Bubba. There's something about Leatherface players.... I don't understand it, but they seem to always be sweaty and never want to have fun, or farm, or give the last person hatch even if people crash/DC out. Bubba players are the worst.

Brutal hatch spawn

Just posting to confirm that yes, this is real and legitimate, we (press folk) got a press release with this yesterday (July 8th) via Vicarious, who are the PR firm BHVR use. I figured it had also gone out via DBD Twitter, but I guess not. In future then, I'll post here and on Twitter about future press releases, as this…

Indeed — that's why we have tier grids which combine strength and difficulty. Blight, for example, is very strong for those skilled with him, but first-timers are going to struggle. e.g.,: https://sac.gg/killers
-
This would hurt a lot of extremely skilled killlers, and content creators. Players extremely good at particular killers (e.g., Scorpionz on Pig, or CoconutRTS on Huntress) would be recognised and dodged often, making their queue times much worse. Furthermore, noticing a killer who tends to main a particular character gives…
-
It's true, you can't kick a gen that's already regressing, and Ruin immediately regresses all gens that aren't actively being repaired. Some killers like to run both so that, if Ruin gets found and destroyed, they still have a perk to slow down gens. Pop/Ruin used to be a little more commonplace, but since Undying released…
-
It is possible, you just need to hope you can get the last gen done before the killer finds the hatch. Lots of luck involved, but definitely doable. If you have friends who play you could probably co-ordinate dying just before you finish the last gen. If you're solo like me, may the odds be ever in your favor.

Most killers will love MMR. I did. Imagine you love playing killer and are in red ranks, playing your mains against strong, experienced survivors. Pretty good for both sides, right? But hey, you've decided to unlock a new killer, whether it's someone you had your eye on for a while or a brand new release. Well, under the…

Read that as prestige three hundred fifty and had some terrible Call of Duty flashbacks

Assume that, if you're solo, everyone else is too. Let's say you get hooked. Player 2 may be doing a gen and knows it's (usually) the smartest play to stay on it rather than go for a rescue. Player 3 is wandering the map looking for a totem or something for a rift challenge. And player 4 is hiding. All three players assume…
-
Lists are so 2020. It's all about grids these days, son!
-
This is intentional. Diversion's pebble will always travel 20 meters (as long as that doesn't go out of map bounds), and it ignores collision — walls and objects don't block the pebble, as it's not a physical object. If it did have collision, indoor maps would render the perk completely useless.
-
Yes, services are down (ingest/gateway). Nothing we can do as players except wait it out.
-
One of the main issues BHVR acknowledges about the button spam for struggle phase is that it isn't easier than skillchecks for lots of people, especially those with disabilities. DBD is hard-to-impossible to play for lots of different disabilities (though the upcoming colorblind settings will help!), but the devs have…
-
Waking up via alarm clock, or by another player, doesn't notify the killer in any way (besides the asleep status silently disappearing from their portrait). Only waking up via failing a skill check alerts the killer, and that's because the failed skill check is the notification, not the waking up itself. Also, Freddy…
-
I remember playing Soul At Stake, is it still around? The most glaring issue with the game was that the killers all moved SLOWER than the survivor players, and had to rely on map knowledge and clever use of their teleport powers to win. As you can imagine, it was incredibly frustrating for new killer players and they…
-
You only need to run Devour Hope as a perk, you don't need to exclusively rely on its effects. Use Myers or Ghost Face to trigger exposed status on survivors for the instadowns. Bring a mori to get the kills.
