  • I will always argue that hitboxes should work in favor of the survivors, not the Killer. If the Killer's ping is that bad, survivors shouldn't be punished for it.
  • No, thank you. Basement rescues are difficult enough as it is.
  • Why? How does that affect you in any way? This argument is awful, and it gets used all the time. "How dare someone get X for a lesser price / less work than me!!" Good grief.
  • We have to stop using this as an excuse. First, because it's exaggerated - hundreds of thousands of players aren't going to spends hundreds of matches blocking anyone who is better than them. Will there be a small minority? Probably - but we have to stop letting the small minority of jerks prevent us from implementing good…
  • That's hyperbole. There is a short list of Killer characters a large percentage of survivor players simply do not like playing against, because their power and/or gameplay is annoying and obnoxious. The Doctor is one, because his AOE power is ridiculously spammable, and its visual effects can trigger headaches and even…
  • You know, there is something to take away from that - but it's not what you're saying it is. If one particular Killer, is so obnoxious no one wants to play against them? That's a problem that needs looking at. If a large number of people would rather DC (or, if it existed, block a player who always played a specific…
  • I just wish they would let us sell back (at a lesser price, of course) bloodweb items we don't want. It would ease the grind a little bit, being able to sell stuff you don't want and will never use.
  • Eh, I don't fret about what "might have been." I enjoyed the match, and once it was over, I queued for the next. :)
  • I didn't really keep track, but the match lasted a good twenty minutes or so
  • If you're lucky enough to be going against a Wraith when you decided to bring a flashlight. shrug Which is never something you can count on.
  • chuckle I'm in the minority - I find I have inexhaustible patience. I simply wait them out. Sooner or later, they're going to realize I'm not going to DC, I'm not going to rage, I'm simply going to wait for them to put on their big-person panties and get to work on a gen somewhere.
  • Except it really doesn't. Small Game, back when it had trap detection, did not give an exact location. It didn't give any sort of aura whatsoever. All it did was give the audio ping (with a cooldown) that notified you something (not even necessarily a trap/hex) was in the conal area you just looked. That's it. Hell, right…
  • It's not the Killer's fault (and I never said it was, so no clue where you got that idea). But neither does that then mean survivors should just give up and not try to still complete their objective - and it also doesn't mean that the only "correct" way for them to do that is by broadcasting their location and not getting…
  • No problem. But my point remains - flashlights don't help you spot traps. And as they have a very limited use in terms of the number of seconds you get light, you also can't use them to consistently sweep an area. Thus the reason I don't consider them a true counter.
  • Every time I've been in a situation like this, the survivors are indeed working on gens - they simply get off the gen and hide every time the Killer comes by on patrol. If the Killer keeps kicking the gens, and is also unable to find any of the survivors, then yes, it's going to be a slow finish to EGC. But you can't…
  • .... which is why I explicitly said in the first sentence of my comment "I will argue that fliashlights are not a sufficient counter to Hag, because they do not help you spot traps."
  • How is evading the Killer considered an outdated mechanic? What exactly would you like survivors to do, if they realize they are in a 3-gen situation?
  • I will argue that fliashlights are not a sufficient counter to Hag, because they do not help you spot traps. Yes, if you see them, you can choose to spend seconds burning them away - but flashlights also have very limited use, which is another reason I don't consider them a true counter (to either Hag or Wraith).
  • Nope. I leave Killer matches with lots of bloodpoints, so why care about something that doesn't matter?
  • Noooooooo! I main Plague, and I love just being able to vomit all over everything and everyone. I don't want to down survivors with it, I just want to make them cringe in horror and disgust as they get hit with it and run away. :) (Can you tell I play Killer just for fun??) On a more serious note - I don't much care for…
  • Considering how broken the RE launch was (and still is)? Not that tough an act to follow, really. I think all most folks want at this point is an update that doesn't break the game even more. Our expectations are that low.
  • This is an excellent point. Even the slowest Killer is faster than survivors' base speed. Exhaustion perks that give a speed burst only last 3 seconds. Add in Bloodlust, add in the number of Killers who can simply ignore pallets and loops (and because of how over-tuned Wraith is right now, he counts as one of these), add…
  • Two survivors together are required to tango. Three or four together, and they must be doing the cha cha slide.
  • Not sure how your friend didn't know you had it - as soon as you hit him, he would have gotten the notification on his screen, and then the little hex icon would have remained over on the right.
  • Y'all REALLY need to stop complaining about survivors engaging in a basic function of the game - forward movement aka running. What are they supposed to do instead? Fly? Belly crawl? Dance?
  • I do hope you try Plague. She doesn't get enough love. She's fun to play. Just remember, you can arc her vomit up and over obstacles, and you can also move left-right while vomiting to sling the stuff all over the place - laugh like I said, she's just fun to play.
  • Honestly? With the toxicity I've been experiencing in the game lately, I wish I were getting more afk Killers. Let me get a gen done, cleanse some totems, get some basement time, then run around near the Killer and get bold points before sayonara-ing out the gate.
  • I think you're running into the Event Wall - because survivors must escape with the Crown in order to collect it, people are getting extra angry when they don't escape. For me personally, it's the toxicity that's exhausting me. The number of non-toxic matches have been dwindling, and last night I hit my limit. Every single…
  • The problem, of course, is that new characters / DLC is one of their primary ways of getting an influx of money - and without money, there's no game. I agree, though, that we're running into problems when it comes to the ever-increasing stables of Killers and survivors. It's not just originality, and more about just how…
  • I also never tunnel or face/proxy camp. After I hook someone, I move to the other side of the map. This makes it easier for folks to do rescues, etc. During this event, I've done my best to let everyone escape (the only sacrifices I've gotten were when I forgot someone was on second hook, or when for some unknown reason to…
  • There is no conspiracy of 40,000 survivor players to purposely skew the statistics. And if, to go way out in left field, there were a conspiracy of say, a few hundred (from some secret online group), they wouldn't be able to have enough of an effect to skew anything.
  • What they said. The end result? A jump in toxicity and sweatiness during 4 or so days before the 13th of the month and then for about 7 days after, as people who drop rank want to reclaim it.
  • And now add in the pre-rank reset sweat, and it's a horror fest in every single match.
  • Only if that then meant only one could be slotted. I'm growing heartily sick of the 3- and 4-hex games. The last thing I want is a 5-hex game.
  • I just prestiged Nea - 14 bloodweb levels later, and I had exactly ONE cake show up on the 14th bloodweb. One.
  • Also.... where are these elusive cakes? These are the bloodwebs I keep seeing on my characters (I literally just got this one): I just leveled up my Feng from 46 - 49, and got exactly one cake from four bloodweb levels.
  • The thing that made me lose all interest in the "crowns" (which aren't crowns at all, but rather halos) - is that they only work on the character's basic, default head. I have zero interest in acquiring crowns I will never wear because it means I can't use any of the other heads I've purchased.
  • Agreed - especially since it's completely left up to random chance (meaning it's become obvious there's no bit of code telling the game to "generate x number of cakes per bloodweb level" at all. Which means some people are being exceedingly lucky and seeing multiple cakes per bloodweb, while others feel fortunate to see a…
  • I stopped using mine last night. I didn't have a single non-toxic match last night, and about halfway through, I was just done and switched over to other offerings.
  • This is the worst it's ever been, for sure - and it was in the midst of last night's toxic matches that I realized - not only do we have the event toxicity, now we have pre-rank-reset sweat and toxicity. It's horrific at this point.
  • I don't see that many cakes on my Killers. So you are far luckier than I. I'm lucky if I see one per bloodweb level
  • Ahhh, the Starstruck explains it (I am not good at identifying Killer perks on visuals alone)! Thanks! That's definitely the missing piece of the puzzle. I saw the flashlights, so figure it was a trio of friends planning on being jerks.
  • LOL I guess. That's literally where 5k of that score came from. I have no clue where the rest came from, to be honest - maybe some bold points at the beginning when I was still trying to extricate myself from the area where the Hot Mess [TM] was occurring. And I think I got in a couple of skill checks before the Killer…
  • Yeah, that's awful. I viewed the "event extended" announcement this morning with trepidation, because I suspect it means another two weeks of this mess.
  • Agreed. Something's still not right. Seeing a lot of lobbies where you appear, and the lobby isn't full (missing a survivor, for example) and it just sits there and doesn't fill.
  • Worse. I just got this error message: The matchmaking process failed. Reason: churnExceeded Oh, I should add that was on the survivor side. On the Killer side, I got some sort of network error - assumed it was on my end, but now I'm not so sure. Haven't been able to get a game yet. PC - North America
  • We must be going up against different red ranks. I would estimate that 80% of the red rank Killers I go up against engage in tunneling and camping. And it's no better on the survivor side, either. I can't count the number of times I've been in a match, aghast at the toxic behavior of a survivor, only to find out at the end…
  • That only helps the survivor/s who wasn't/weren't the one/s unlucky enough to be the ones the game chose to spawn closest to you. Which, given the level of tunneling these days? Can mean a player who gets no chance at all to actually play and enjoy the match.
  • Indeed - which is why I think it's a little too powerful.
