We are investigating an issue in the game that causes strobing/flashing lights, and are focused on fixing it as soon as possible. Some players may be impacted by this issue and experience discomfort from it, so we recommend taking proper precautions.

And until we fix this issue, we recommend that players with photosensitivity, or who have an epileptic condition or have had seizures of any kind consult their physician before playing.

The Firebreather, alt.: The Dragon

Backstory bits:

  • The Firebreather was formerly a Firefighter in a small town
  • Nothing much to do, always fascinated by fire
  • Started hearing a voice inside his head during rescue missions to let the people burn etc, but always resisted
  • One time wasn't able to rescue a person and had to watch him/her burn alive
  • traumatized after that and suspended, but the trauma wasn't really like those people thought
  • He felt miserable because he kind of enjoyed the experience and had to stop himself to become an arsonist
  • finally decides to end his life because he is terryfied of himself and that inner voice
  • setting fire to a cabin he locked himself into, inhaling the smoke, seeing nothing, closing his eyes and awaiting the flames, but those never reach him, when he finally opens his eyes he stands in a forest with thick fog

Appearance:

He wears masks of Dragons/Lizards kind of like the animal masks of the Huntress, but more mythological.

His weapon is a fire extinguisher.

He is tall and has a wide terror-radius and kind of slower movement speed, since his power is long-ranged.

Power: Fire Odem

He can breath fire kind of like the puke of The Plaque, but not as thin and precise, broader effect area but cant breath over pallets/obstacles. Pallets can be burned down by this, takes some seconds. Gens can be heated, which will make them glow and survivors cant interact for a short amount of time.

A survivor when hit by the fire is inflicted with the new burning-status effect. While burning, the survivor has the haste-status effect, screams loudly and often and either after x amount of seconds or after putting out the fire (e.g. animation where surv rolls on the ground), the survivor will be set to the broken-status effect for x amount of seconds where also smoke comes from him/her. Smoke and fire overlays would be like the green illness cloud from the Plaque.

If a survivor is broken and inflicted with the burning-status effect, he/she will not be set to the broken-status effect afterwards but instead set to the dying-state after the burning-effect is over.

Perk 1: Hunt of the Dragon

Obsession-based perk. After chasing the obsession for x amount of seconds, all non-obsession survivors will be set to the oblivious-status effect for y amount of seconds.

Perk 2: Hex: Burn

While this Hex-perk is active, survivors will be set to the burning-status effect after cleansing any lit Hex-totem.

Perk 3: Vision of Flames

When a survivor enters a radius of x/y/z around a fire-source (fire-barrels, lanterns on backwater maps etc.) their location is revealed to you (with a cooldown so that survivors cant spam it...). They will suffer from the oblivious-status effect in this area (not on cooldown).
